I feel awful as I have a lot of respect for Jacobs. Never seemed to be a primadonna. Always admired his talent. Hope the allegations aren’t true, but if they are, he needs to be accountable to the repercussions.

Former Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs III was denied parole Thursday, nearly five years after a drunken driving crash that killed 23-year-old Tina Tintor and her dog in Las Vegas.

Ruggs, 27, will be eligible for parole again on Aug. 24, 2027, and could appear before the Nevada Board of Parole Commissioners next May.

"Mr. Ruggs, and our office, continue to feel the grief and loss suffered by Ms. Tintor's family," Ruggs' attorneys, David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld, said in a Thursday statement, adding that they were disappointed by the parole board's decision to deny parole.

During Ruggs' appearance in May, Chesnoff urged the parole board to ignore Ruggs' celebrity.

"Sometimes being high-profile makes it more of a burden," Chesnoff said. "And I would most respectfully ask everybody to treat Henry the way they would anybody that comes before them, except for the fact that I think he's tried to do as much as humanly possible to send a message that his behavior was unacceptable."

Dumb behavior in choosing females. Church is a good place to meet one, but instagram whores and picking them up at clubs is just dumb. You need a calm environment at home not stupid drama. Of course it could be the players who are the drama queens, who knows. If it causes the authorities to get involved then stay away from that person, you're not good for each other. Maybe you're both just awful people, but two awful people doesn't make a good union. Break up. Give up.

Dumbass. Also, based on the below information if true this guy should have played his last game in the NFL.

If he strangled the girl to the point of a traumatic brain injury, he should be in jail for a good portion of his life, never mind not playing another down in the NFL.

Watch the Broncos still keep him on and the NFL not doing anything other than an obligatory six-game suspension; they don't care about what happens off the field, so long as the player's talented. The court's not going to do shit either; nobody gives a shit about domestic violence, no matter if it's a male or female perp or victim, until it actually devolves into murder.

Technically NFL players commit DV less than the general public and it's a lower % of their crimes than the general public. We just don't see all the other DV going on usually. Not excusing any DV just relaying what I read.

edit
Lower% of their crimes was misspoken but the % of the players doing it is what I was trying to say.

Maybe that's true. But I gotta say, it's not passing the smell test.

The article I read was from 2021 it listed 134 players in that time arrested for DV. A pretty small % of the players in the league. Now of the NFL players arrests DV is a higher % than the general public but the % of those players compared to how many people are arrested for it is lower.

That would equate to roughly 20 million people arrested for DV. Obviously there are a lot of parameters involved for that stat to be accurate - between certain ages - males - athletes - known to mash keys late into the night...

Doesn't really matter. Even with the number of times we see it in high profile athletes, it's really not that many in the grand scheme of things.

20 million people over 21 years according to the thing I read. Certainly reasonable.
