I've always wondered about this.

When i query for (or post) tickets for sale, the sites usually have a filter/field for "Obstructed Seats". So is this just the way it is for other (MOST?) stadiums?
Most *older* stadiums, yes. But there's no reason the architects for a brand new stadium, prolly very experienced designing stadiums & being paid quite a large design fee, can't do an "obstructed view" check. I will say... the interns coming out of school aren't what they used to be.
Anyway, it's possible the ownership was made aware of this, and decided to offer "obstructed view" PSL's vs. the cost of all the structural gymnastics to prevent it. Creating an all-vomitory type stairway layout might even result in reduced # of seating. Lots of considerations, and when presented with the options, most Owners will default to the lowest initial cost / highest ROI solution.

Obstructed views are bound to happen in stadiums and that's fine if there's full transparency. But none of them should be offered as PSL type seats or season seats. Should be offered as fillers that people can get for cheap and in this day and age given a very clear picture of the view so they know what they are getting. If people truly spent tens of thousands on PSLs and was told nothing about obstructing view and got to the stadium for this grand opening and were presented with those views I'd lose my shit too. But I don't know much about it beyond the pictures.
