Brees had that pinpoint accuracy and anticipation, though. He didn't have the biggest arm, but he could still push the ball down the field until the end of his career. Gunslinger, but smart as hell with his decision-making. A leader to all of his team.

As for Big Ben? He had the big arm, had the strength of an ox, but he was basically carried to his Super Bowl wins (notably never won a Super Bowl MVP, losing out to his two receivers in Ward and Holmes - while his defense helped win him games), whereas Brees was the main play-driver on that Saints Super Bowl run and won the MVP.

Roethlisberger was not the absolute leader Brees was. Roethlisberger was not the gunslinger that Brees was; while he put up respectable statistics, he falls behind Brees in literally almost every passing category - and before anyone wishes to make the argument about coaches, he showed that he would've succeeded in San Diego as well, had they trusted his rehab.

He's simply not a better quarterback than Brees.

I’ll still never forget after his issue with the alleged rape of that girl and his bodyguard being and off-duty cop that Pittsburgh was so done with Big Ben that they offered him to the Rams for a 3rd round pick, but we had the first overall pick and were enthralled with Sam Bradford.

Big Ben’s personal team rehabbed his image, he married his long term girlfriend and Pittsburgh stood by him. This came out I think a year after we drafted Bradford.

For that reason as well as his needing to be carried, I’d say Big Ben had to go

It's even worse than that if you read the police report.
Ben went down to Georgia, (like the devil in that Charlie Daniels song),
with two bodyguards. They found a small college town where they proceeded to drink with girls, many underage, then Ben followed one of the girls to the bathroom and had his two bodyguards block the hallway and followed the girl in. The girl's friends tried to protect their friend and the two bodyguards wouldn't allow them down the hallway to the bathroom. So seedy that I was reticent to even post about it here.
The girl was paid off not to prosecute.
Just slimy.

SGT HARTMAN:

THEN HE DROPS BACK
AND HE HURLS"

The sad part is the Rams front office and a lot of us fans were accepting of 7-9. It’s only when he fell to a 4 win season did the pitchforks and torches come out.
This is revisionist history IMO. The Rams were SO bad following the 2011 season and the years before it that Jeff Fisher was a GOOD hire, an established front line (at the time) Coach, and perennial 7-9 seasons were a huge improvement for us. Only after 2015, his 4th full season with us was it appropriate to call for his head.

Even worse than that (albeit allegedly, as it was settled in a civil suit)? He raped another woman in a similar manner than the second girl.

Yeah, Roethlisberger has earned absolutely zero brownie points from me.

Not sure what your definition of revisionist history but IMO my post was just the fact, Jack.

I knew Fisher was going to fail when he tried to put together an offensive line made out of other teams cuts and guys whose knees were shot 3 years prior.
Giving Fisher control of the personel was the biggest problem, in my opinion.
