Every year it's the same, the media thinks they're gonna dictate whether a player rises or falls in the draft because of how they look in shorts. Only bad teams fall for this trope.
I think there was a time, probably 15-20 years ago where guys would get overdrafted by NFL teams on the semi-regular due to workouts (think Kyle Bollar or Brian Quick) but with front offices having better GMs (not just some meathead ex player) and analytic departments and many scouting depts overhauled to use it, I just don't think you see many teams being swayed significantly by combine or workout results any more.

There's always gonna be some reordering on the margins (like where in the top 10 Bain goes) but that's about it these days.

Yeah, I hope people noticed that when NFL Network would highlight their fastest 40 times or highest vertical jumps over the years, those lists were littered with mostly nobody's.

For every Chris Johnson there were five guys like John Ross.

Sadly I would say people don't notice that shit. You have probably a third who actually think for themselves. The rest tend to just jump on whatever trend sounds best to them in the moment on social media.

Quick question: What are the pads that all the players have on their trapezius muscles at the combine?
I, like you, was on the internet, so I just typed your question into ChatGPT (b/c it was a good question) and voila:

Quick question: What are the pads that all the players have on their trapezius muscles at the combine?

They’re EMG sensors—small adhesive pads used to measure muscle activity.

What they do

  • Track electrical signals from muscles (usually upper traps, deltoids, lats, etc.)
  • Help evaluators study firing patterns, strength, and fatigue
  • Pair with motion‑capture systems and force plates for more detailed biomechanics data

Why they’re on the traps

  • The trapezius is heavily involved in posture, sprint start mechanics, and upper‑body power
  • It’s an easy, consistent placement point for clean signal capture

Concepcion is one hell of a prospect. More I watch of him the more I'm wowed. Such an easy mover, it's crazy.
I've seen him mocked to the Seahawks quite a few times hopefully someone grabs him before pick 32

I figure he goes off the board from late teens into early 20s. He's not too far off from Lemon, just a matter of some drops. But he separates like crazy, and will also give whoever takes him a plus returner.
