Guys, ML football is just another Dov Kleinman, no one's clamoring about the bench press, they're just trying to get you mad and get clicks.

And it's working.

Sure,

But you failed to mention his massive knee injury in which he not only tore his ACL, but his MCL and PCL…

That combined with the other two and we have a player that may never play a full season. And you want him in the top 15? No thanks. Without that history I’d trade UP for him, but with it, I don’t waste the pick
Yet you don't truly know his medicals though with that statement.... lmao. I've said plenty of times, IF his medical checks come back clean, I'd definitely take him at our pick or even top 10 if needed. To me, he's that good. It's football, there's always a risk of injury no matter the player or how clean they come into the league. Since I'm obviously guessing and hedging my bets, I'm going to guess his medicals are gonna check out just fine. Remember, I did say guess hahahahaha

I'm just responding to the posts here and its clearly funny to me. Some guys just gonna garner hate and apparently Tyson is already polarizing so he's an easy click bait target.

Good thread discussion on clap attacking (which causes drops for many prospects) and how it's not just slapping hands together to catch the ball but how wide the hands are when ball arrives and needing to still close them together to catch ball.

Fergy had an issue with this in college but oddly enough I don't think it led to his drops this season. Poor timing with Stafford and inconsistency during contested catches were an issue this last year it seemed.

Concepcion is one hell of a prospect. More I watch of him the more I'm wowed. Such an easy mover, it's crazy.

He hasn't had any other major knee injuries since (injury happened in 2022 for Christ sakes lol). Plenty of football players have had knee injuries early on and have had good careers. It's football, that shit happens. Medicine has advanced way more so it's not an injury that's career threatening at all. Once again overblown but hey don't take it from me when he's drafted in the first half of the 1st round. The teams wanting to talk to this young man says it all vs what anyone is saying on this board :laugh4:

I just don’t see how 48% games missed is overblowing anything.

48% of the time he’s been on the sideline.

How you can see that and be like, “Yup. We don’t have the defense to get to the superbowl, but you know what we need with the 13th pick? Someone to play half the season then stand on the sidelines for the important games”?

History can’t be ignored. It’s a trend.

I'm not downplaying Tyson's injury history. It's concerning. But the 48% figure is overstating it. He spent four years in college and missed the entirety of the 2023 season and the final three games of the 2022 season due to a severe knee injury. Even if Tyson had no other injuries in college, he'd have missed around 30% of his career games due to that ONE injury. The bigger concern is that he also had injuries that forced him to miss time in 2024 and 2025. But the 48% number is misleading.

Would I draft Tyson? If his medicals check out, absolutely.

J.Love is the only offensive player I’d be willing to trade up for in the first rd.

IMO he goes as early as AZ at #3

Crazy. OK... now what?

Guess I'm crazy too though. I just have a feeling that Payton could be something special in a couple years with the right system and coaching.
He's a lottery ticket, but I'd take him on Day 3. There are reasons to be optimistic.

I'd only counter by saying that he missed 48 percent due to two major injuries that require long times to recover. It still matters. But it's not like Anthony Davis, who misses 25 percent of every NBA season with various random injuries. So, missed games matters. But percentage of missed games only matter if someone is missing multiple games per year with regular injuries, IMO.

Lot to like there. I'd like to come away from this draft with two pass catchers, ideally and think we'll come out of the 1st likely with one of them, maybe Concepcion.

Exactly, people act like Tyson rolling into the combine like this and saying, draft me! :laugh4:

like a boss win GIF

His major knee injury was in 2022, that's almost 4 years ago. Broken collarbone can happen to anyone, it's literally the most common bone broken and I personally know this as I've done this exam on many many folks. So then there's the hamstring, oh shit, its the most common hurt muscle in football. So he's almost 4 years removed from the most major injury he's had and all the other injuries he can definitely recover from and not have be determental to his career. Yeah, his injuries are being overblown imo. He's a young man that will probably lol be alright. I'm not going to be surprised if he passes his medical checks easily. The skipping the combine thing is him probably wanting to make sure he starts off his entrance into the league the right way as it could cost him money if he doesn't. I think he's going to be a stud.

Exactly the point I'm making. Knee injury was in 2022 and broken collarbone (which will not affect his play) requires tons of time to recover from as its the most common broken bone as its exposed and protected by not much. Don't believe me, just feel your collar bone right now, them bitches stick out hahaha. Tyson gonna be ok.

I get that as he's a stud too. Look I'm throwing Tyson (as long as medicals check out) in there but no matter me believing that, it also largely depends on what it'll take to get to whatever the pick needed to draft either to really convince me. A team wanting way too much in return is always a turn off. Funny part is I keep mentioning Tyson as he's a more realistic target than Love even though I also would be an addition I'd be ecstatic about. Love probably going to go much higher than folks anticipate.

That's the Mojo I know.
We will have to wait to find out where he is truly projected. Hell we may see some trades.

Yeah - kinda where I am on it but I also would not object to them taking him in Rd 3. I have a sneaking suspicion that several teams are intrigued by the guy and highly doubt he lasts until the end of Rd 5. A trade down to early day 3 or up from late day 3 maybe - but I really think he's gone long before pick 167.

I suppose I'm really thinking more long term and am not really interested in bringing in a QB that would compete for QB2 this season. I'd rather just go with Stetson or bring in a vet that has played meaningful snaps than have some guy you use a high pick on so that you have a guy that will suck at the position for a year or more anyway and have a true ceiling of being a back up. I'd rather we load up at another position and still be able to grab a QB with potential to be that stud.

Payton just checks a bunch of physical boxes and seems to also have some pretty decent skills to be able to build on. What I'd like to figure out is how a guy with 10 1/4" fucking hands has a fumbling issue. I'd have to think that is correctable though.

Oh well. I don't put a lot of time into this draft stuff so I generally don't get real upset over whoever the Rams pick. I think the last time I really had a WTF reaction was when we drafted Joe Klop.

Yeah I have zero confirms if the medical checks out. 13 is a luxury pick. Shoot for the moon.

Definitely a target if he falls to 29. Fluid, explosive, creates separation in his routes, and looks like an answer at PR/KR. The only question is the hands, would like to see him more consistent catching the football.
