Yeah. Pretty ridiculous to use that “win” as a feather in his cap.
It's like the MLB rule that a Starting Pitcher must go 5 innings to get credit for a win.

A starter can pitch 4 2/3 perfect innings and leave (say, with a blister) with a 10-0 lead. A middle-inning guy can get the final out of the fifth, come out of the game and HE gets the win.

The dude was erratic as hell and had a difficult time keeping Desmond Ridder on the bench. Minshew played better and he’s what?… battling to be the backup in KC? Color me unimpressed with O’Connell.

I’m not necessarily impressed with Bennett either. But lamenting that we didn’t take a QB like O’Connell over him is a fool’s errand.

And so… you think O’Connell would have sniffed the grass with us? :laugh4:

This O’Connel stuff is being taken out of context. The replies about OConnel being more accomplished than Bennett all started with this comment.

Actually, I think that post is out of context.

My point is aimed at those who think we should have taken O’Connell and continue to lament the fact we didn’t.

Never mind the fact that teams constantly make choices their fans don’t understand. But seriously, even bringing this one up is pretty lame. I can actually see the TuTu/Humphries debate. I just don’t see this one as being a worthwhile pursuit.

Lame was the assertion that by O'Connell breaking his wrist, the Rams made the right choice.

Well, let's see how their careers would be right now, meaning their development as players, if O'Connell was here and Bennett was drafted by Vegas?

I am guessing O'Connell would be way ahead of Bennett at this point.

It all was derived by @TheTackle comment. Without that comment nobody would be talking about it. Nobody even thought about it until then.

He won the game by running head first into a lber and getting knocked out very early. Thus allowing Goff to enter the game.

If wolford was on the field the whole game the Rams would not have won.

Do people honestly care about how good the Raiders injured backup QB is or not?

Not really, just pointing out that Bennett's in a great spot comoared yo tge itger guy...and I like the Bennett. I just don't think he is big enough to be a starting QB that can last a season.

Most people agree with you about Bennett and a lot feel the same about O'Connell.

He got off with a slap on the wrist IMO.

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/46087680/sources-nfl-wants-rashee-rice-suspension-least-6-games

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice has accepted a six-game suspension for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy, sources told ESPN, and will start serving the suspension at the beginning of the season.

Rice will be eligible to return to the Chiefs in Week 7 ahead of their Oct. 19 game against the Las Vegas Raiders. He had been scheduled for a disciplinary hearing on Sept. 30.

Sue L. Robinson, the former U.S. district judge who serves as the disciplinary officer jointly appointed by the NFL and NFL Players Association, was scheduled to hear Rice's case. The only other NFL disciplinary hearing she has presided over was Deshaun Watson's in 2022.

In July, Rice was sentenced to 30 days in jail and five years' probation for his role in a multicar crash in Dallas that left multiple people injured during the 2024 offseason.

Rice, 25, pleaded guilty in district court to two third-degree felony charges -- collision involving serious bodily injury and racing on a highway causing bodily injury. He received deferred adjudication, and the case will be dismissed if he completes the probation.

Rice had 79 receptions for 938 yards and seven touchdown catches in his 2023 rookie season. Last year, he suffered a season-ending injury in Week 4 after he tore the lateral collateral ligament in his right knee. He had 24 catches for 288 yards and two touchdowns in those four games.

In a rare scenario Tuesday, the Chiefs kept eight receivers -- Rice, Xavier Worthy, Hollywood Brown, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Tyquan Thornton, Nikko Remigio, Jason Brownlee and rookie Jalen Royals -- on their initial 53-man roster. The Chiefs did this in case Rice agrees to a shortened suspension with the league, one that is different from what the NFL initially wanted, which was at least an eight-game punishment.
