Not miscommunication between him and Dorson? Dotson blocked no one on that play
Well, it was miscommunication. Dotson tapped Limmer to tell him that Limmer was responsible for Carter. But Limmer was already turning to help Avila and didn't register it in time. I don't know the protection call, but my guess is that it called for Limmer and Dotson to take Carter with the option for one to peel off and help another OL.

If you watch from the Eagles side as soon as Carter steps right, Dotson sees that and turns left to look for the edge cutting inside. Limmer turned left looking to pick up the stinger, not realizing Carter faked him out. It’s forgivable once but twice so close together was a huge blunder.

That's what one of the Eagles' analysts claimed, but Limmer's approach there doesn't reflect that. He didn't respond as if he was expecting a stunt, at least in terms of proper technique.
