Reminds me of an elite QB on a losing, non-playoff team for multiple seasons ... three straight.

THAT does NOT happen very often.

Not this coming off-season ... too early ... Bengals would not consider it ... cap implications extreme.

But one more non-playoff year in 2026 ... PERHAPS ... a 30-year old Joe Burrow may request a change.

Who? I was thinking Stafford but he only had 1 year left on his deal with Detroit, not the 3/4 Burrow has
You read that ('it reminds me') just a little ... Too Literally.

I don't think it's a question of looking for an example of another situation that is Exactly the same.
There may be very few examples that have SOME similarities. However, there are going to be differences; and you pointed-out a legit difference between Burrow and Stafford.

It's about an unique situation:
An elite-QB on a team with no post-season presence for an extended period of time. That's rare.

It's also about how the business of football has evolved, with Stars having greater control to force trades.

I'm not saying it Will happen. Just suggesting that it Could be headed in that direction, with more disappointing years for the Bengals.

I have been preaching the Possibility of Burrow requesting a trade ... IN 2027 ... since last off-season; and consistently stated that it would take Two More disappointing seasons to be a possibility (2025 and 2026).
Well, 2025 has played-out.

And, IF it was to happen, Cincinnati would probably prefer to move him out of the Conference ... and it might well take an Aggressive, Forward-thinking, Proactive team to make a match ... the Rams qualify.

I always read your posts and read where you think ... No Way.
I don't see any way now, or three months from now ... But ... 15 months from now? ... ... ... Just Maybe

The only way I see it as possible is if he would be available but not worth the 50+ mill per year contract he carries with him.
I dont want to put any bad juju on him but if he has another season ending injury in 2026, and the team craps the bed again, then I could see them trying to move on. And frankly, under those circumstances, no way would he be worth the haul it would take to get him
If he is back to his all Pro self in '26, there is no way he gets traded
Lightning struck with Stafford, the team sucked, he was a loyal soldier at the end of his deal, Detroit was able to save face in trading the legend by allowing him to be part of the decision. And the haul they received was legendary, almost Herschel Walker like.
Burrow? Its comparing apples to a polar bear

All true but absolutes go out the window if Burrow is ready to play the nuclear card and punch out.
