Broncos signed WR Courtland Sutton to a four-year, $92 million contract extension.
Shortly after it was reported that a deal was nearing between Sutton and the Broncos, news broke of an official deal. The soon-to-be 30-year-old receiver will now be under contract with the Broncos through the 2029 season, giving him a chance to potentially retire with the team that selected him in the second round back in 2018. After battling through injuries and poor quarterback play for most of his career, Sutton turned in his best season as a pro in 2024, catching 81 passes for 1,081 yards and eight touchdowns. Sutton profiles as a fringe WR2/WR3 after finishing as a top-24 PPR receiver in 41 percent of his games last season.

That seems more realistic for a 30 year old receiver. I think McLaurin is better than Sutton and he is also better than Metcalf but the problem is the Steelers gave Metcalf a ridiculously stupid contract for what he's been in his career. It's put the Commodes in an awkward situation which is fine with me.

That’s because teaching and identifying good offense is totally foreign to the entire Steelers organization.

I can't stand Metcalf and I think he's overrated based on what he does well. But that said this will be the first time he's had a capable QB. Not sure if that QB will have protections, but Pittsburgh tends to stay balanced with the run game and they always have strong defense.

I'd say Arthur Smith is a capable OC. Problem is they don't have too much around Metcalf other than a solid TE. If they had one more wideout threat I'd think maybe their offense will be a surprise for 2025. But as it is there should be a lot of close games and opportunities for heroism if they can keep Rodgers clean and healthy.

"Retiring" at 24 is a misnomer. At that age it's quitting.
True, but maybe just a case of seeing the writing on the wall or maybe just burned out on football. My kid had friends that went on to play college football and a couple of them quit because they started to hate it. Two of his friends suffered from multiple concussions and my son said they were a little f'd up from it. It's a tough sport, a real grind. So you have to absolutely love it.

This is why fantasy football fucking sucks.

Sutton is for sure a #1, and he fits the system in Denver like a glove (not O.J.'s). Fantasy just reduces all of these players to numbers and statistics, not seeing what they bring to a team.

It's why I quit doing fantasy football a while back.

Colts signed OT Bernhard Raimann to a four-year, $100 million extension.
The mega-deal catapults Raimann into the top seven in highest total value contracts amongst active offensive linemen, with the team locking him up through the 2029 season. Raimann received Pro Football Focus’ eighth highest overall grade during the 2024 season, highlighted by one of the top pass blocking grades in the league after allowing just 20 total pressures on 471 pass blocking snaps. The deal includes $60 million in guaranteed money, a staggering mark that stands as the second most in the league.

Or realizing you reached your ceiling in college
Could be that realization....although a lot of guys keep themselves in shape and get picked up to a PS because of injuries.
Could also just being able to stay healthy from little nagging injuries.....could be a lot of things.
Guy has a degree and a bright future no matter what he decides to do.
I wish him the best.
