Demarcus Robinson pleads no contest to DUI charge, gets probation​

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Demarcus Robinson pleaded no contest this week to a misdemeanor DUI charge and was sentenced to three years' probation.

Robinson's plea and sentencing took place Tuesday in Los Angeles. He also was ordered to pay a $390 fine and to complete court-mandated programs, including a three-month alcohol program, according to multiple media outlets that cited court records.
"Mr. Robinson has taken this process extremely seriously by already completing most of the terms of his probation. We expect that his probation will terminate early at the 18-month mark after which his case will be expunged," Robinson's attorney, Jacqueline Sparagna, told TMZ Sports.

Sparagna told The Orange County Register that two other charges (driving with a BAC of 0.08 or higher and driving without a valid licence) were dismissed.

Robinson also will be subject to possible discipline from the NFL under the league's personal conduct policy.
Robinson's arrest last November happened when he was a member of the Los Angeles Rams. California Highway Patrol said officers observed him driving more than 100 mph in a white Dodge sedan on US-101 northbound. He was charged in January.



In March, Robinson signed a two-year, $9.5 million contract in free agency with the 49ers.
Last season, Robinson started all 17 games for the Rams and led the team with seven touchdown receptions. He was fourth on the team with 31 receptions and 505 receiving yards. His receiving yards, receiving touchdowns and yards per reception (16.3) were career highs.

Amit Patel, 32, is already serving a 6½-year sentence at Williamsburg federal prison in South Carolina after pleading guilty in December 2023 to wire fraud and illegal monetary transactions. Now, he faces six counts of grand theft in Florida. Under state law, grand theft of $100,000 or more is a first-degree felony punishable by up to 30 years in prison.

Patel admitted to stealing from the Jaguars over 3½ years while managing the team's virtual credit card program. Federal prosecutors claimed Patel lived a "life of luxury" that included lavish vacations and the purchase of a high-end watch and sports memorabilia.

The Jaguars later sued Patel in Florida state court for $66.6 million in damages. That case is still pending.
In July 2024, Patel filed a lawsuit against FanDuel in federal court claiming the sportsbook "exploited" his gambling addiction and intentionally ignored its responsible gaming and anti-money-laundering protocols. According to court documents, he transferred approximately $20 million to FanDuel.

Patel has said he was previously diagnosed with a gambling disorder and was a preyed upon by the website operator, according to a court filing.

FanDuel has declined to comment on the lawsuit, citing company policy about discussing pending litigation.
The Jaguars declined to comment Thursday. An attorney for Patel did not immediately respond to inquiries from ESPN.

Judkins was still in jail as of Saturday night and scheduled to have his initial court appearance Sunday morning, according to court records.

The Browns said they are "are aware and gathering more details," according to a team spokesperson.

Cleveland selected Judkins, a former Ole Miss and Ohio State standout, with the No. 36 overall pick in the 2025 draft. He is lone member of the Browns' seven-player draft who has yet to sign his rookie contract.

Yea, and of course the Browns, along with the Texans became the first 2 teams to EVER fully guarantee 2nd round contracts. Their individual stupidty has now forced all other teams down a path of bullshit. Browns can fuck up a wet dream. First the Watson contract, and now this shit. Is there a way to force the owners of the Browns (and Bengals) to respectably sell their teams to people who know football business. Their dumbfuck decision has affected the entire league as camps are opening and 2nd round picks are absent, to include our own.
