Big news in terms of the Anaheim Ducks and Philadelphia Flyers.

Like holy shit, that's a large offer sheet for Leo Carlsson. Eighteen million over five years. Like, holy shit. I don't know if Anaheim matches or not.

And that's right after the clever (as in a one-year deal until free agency where the contract can't be dealt) Barrett Hayton signing against the Utah Mammoth by the New Jersey Devils.

And there might be more coming, according to hockey rumors.

This has got to be the most exciting offseason I can remember.

Anyone feel like updating this thread title to the 2026/2027 NHL Season thread? Or, at the very least, the All-Encompassing Hockey Thread?

Blues are starting the season tonight against Dallas, and our top prospect - one of the best righty defense prospects in the game - Adam Jiricek, is playing on the first pairing with Philip Broberg!

Here's hoping we trade (not too much, like a first-round pick, but Carbonneau and a second along with Lindstein/Neighbours would be fine by me) for Nikishin and sign Snuggerud to a long-term contract!

Can't wait to see how the Blues do. I'm hesitant to say playoffs based on how many times we've started slowly over the past four years, but I'm still eager to see how they - and especially how the younger players on the roster like Snuggerud, Dvorsky, and Jiricek, in particular - perform. And if there's a Nikishin deal, to solidify our defense, all the better; he's arguably the best prospect in the game.

That and/or a Snuggerud long-term deal would be just fine by me.
