Man, I know the Blues lost, but my thoughts are only with the guy who fell through the glass at the Penguins game against us. I don't care that we lost; I hope he's going to be okay.

Robert Thomas (our #1 center) and Jake Neighbours (top winger) are both out. Neighbours got put on IR. Binnington, Hofer, Buchnevich, Schenn, and Faulk need to be dealt for bags of pucks because our leadership absolutely sucks, and our goalies suck more.

Three forwards out long-term, including the aforementioned Alexei Toropchenko, who burned himself badly by putting a frozen turkey in boiling oil. Jimmy Snuggerud, our promising sniper, is out for the year with wrist surgery. Pavel Buchnevich still sucks.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry at this point.

Technically, this is the end of the 2026 season…but the 2026 NHL Entry Draft is coming up on Friday!!

And the Blues have four picks in that draft! Don’t expect us to use all of them, but it’s a very exciting time!

Also, the Chicago Blackhawks made one of the single worst trades I think I’ve ever seen: trading #4 overall, #45 overall, and a decent defenseman, for a #3 defenseman with concussion concerns and a fourth line cap dump.

And the Blues made their selections and got Mason McTavish!

First up, we had Tynan Lawrence at #11, then Maddox Dagenais at #16 (both of them being probable top-line centers), and traded #15 and #29 for McTavish (another top-six center). Then we got Brandon Carlo (our veteran righty defenseman for only one year until we likely flip him when our top prospect - Adam Jiricek - is ready) for a mere two third-round picks, then picked up a couple of interesting defensemen in the third and fourth (Luke Schairer and Landon Nycz; we don't talk about Nicholas Bogas), a super athletic goalie (Vladimir Proskurin), and three interesting right-handed centers/wingers (Carter Stevens in the fifth, Lars Steiner in the sixth, and Colin Fitzgerald in the seventh.).

Now, granted, most of these guys will probably never make it, but it'll be interesting to track their progress through the organization!
