I disagree, Fields is from Georgia, IMO, it is a perfect fit for the Falcons as I still believe Fields can be an upper tier signal caller, he just needs to harness some of his running & trust his reads.
What exactly in his play so far makes you think he's capable of being an upper tier QB. A top end running QB sure but passer? I just haven't seen it.

Watched him quite a bit at Ohio State and believe in his ability. In Chicago, IMO, he has not had proper coaching been through a couple of OC's and Head Coaches too. I just think heading back to Georgia & being teamed with Zac Robinson would be a situation he could thrive in.

Agreed. The guy has elite physical talent but at the NFL level you gotta have the mental side. I have seen nothing to make me think his ceiling isn't someone like Krapperdick. He's going to need to be in an offense where his throws are schemed up and you can look pretty damn good doing that when you have quality at OC.

But if I'm Morris I would trade up to 3 and take Daniels. He comes with team control and has the balls to look downfield and challenge defenses.

Got it optimism I get, but his play so far doesn't lead me to believe he's that good of a thrower of the football. I'd hope for Raheem and Zac's sake they go another route.

Yeah I think Daniels is QB2 in this draft but with all QB's we know there are risks. But the man has a cannon and can run the ball.

Looks like we’ll see more performance based pay contracts from the Rams if the league is helping to subsidize these costs.
That's not what it means.
The clubs dont choose who gets the money, its spread out league wide based on players with low salaries who play a significant amount.
Its a benefit from the league, not a contracted thing

The huge salary cap increase may have a double impact.

1. It gives the Rams more $ to spend, perhaps making it easier to retain Dotson and Shelton.
However ...
2. All the teams get a big-bump, so fewer players may hit the free agent market and be available to sign.

I just checked Spotrac and OTC ... both have updated.

Couple days ago the Rams' Cap Space was at $35.3M (Spotrac) and $27.7M (OTC)

With the Brian Allen release, and the higher-than-expected cap increase look at the following numbers:
Current Rams' Cap Space per Spotrac is $52.3M; and for OTC it stands at $46M.

The thing is, the Rams remain in the same spot relevant to other teams regarding total cap space ...
The Rams have the 12th most cap space per Spotrac; and the 11th most per OTC ... No Change in Ranking

Honestly, still think Fields isn't a running QB and he is a legit passer. Is he Tom Brady/ Peyton Manning? No. But how many passers are even pure pocket passers like those 2?

Dare one of you to call Lamar Jackson a running QB.

He's not but he had some years to develop his passing and just like Fields has had what? 2 Different offenses and before he got hurt last year was top 5 in Passing yards, efficiency, and top 2 in TD's? Guy needs a chance to develop and he definitely has shown the skills to be a Top 8 passer in the NFL.

That being said he still sucks being from OSU ;) lol

and I know freaking @Elmgrovegnome agrees with me 100% to 100% of the time here to. :sunglasses:

A lot of people tend to forget about this part of it. Just assuming that with more cap we can do more in the end it's not much of a change. Other teams get it and can spend more. Free agents know there's a little bit more and can ask for more. It's all a wash in the game that is cap management imo.

I've watched a bunch of his games and have never seen this. Sorry maybe it's just me but I missed this aspect of his game. He had the 3rd most runs and 2nd most yards rushing of every QB last year. The year before he was only 5 rushes behind Jalen Hurts and had almost 400 yards more than Lamar Jackson. I'm not sure how you can't call him a running QB.

You know ... to be honest ... there was a part of me that was hoping I was missing something; and posters like you, or @dieterbrock would point-out how this larger-than-expected cap increase would greatly benefit the Rams more than other teams.
