When AD joined the team it was Long, Donald, Brockers, Quinn.Could you imagine our DL with AD, Brock and the youngsters we have currently?
That was a very good defensive line

It's too bad all of their ages didn't quite line up because those 4 guys in their prime would have been one of the greatest pass rushing d-lines in history. I guess it wouldn't matter since we had a high school offense ruining most of their efforts anyway. When AD joined the team it was Long, Donald, Brockers, Quinn.

Solid player who generally played like the first round talent he was, for the majority of his Rams career.
Enjoy retirement big man.
Biggest threat to Penix succeeding will be those legs. Can he stay healthy. I think he'll own that Falcons locker room by the end of the year. Next year he'll be out there doing his thing, dealing that ball downfield. You simply cannot teach a QB to have big balls in the pocket. Some do, and others probably never will.
Williams is just too damn good. This is a completely different QB from Fields. Fields was all bullshit and upside perception but he's a pussy in the pocket. Pussies in the pocket don't last long in the NFL.
McCarthy is like a meme of a modern day white kid QB. All kind and nice, from a great family I am sure, but zero balls to him when it comes to standing in there and putting a fucking knife in a defense. His coach knew it, in spite of all his comments, which is why he never put the game in his hands. Vikes can succeed with him I am sure if they duplicate that. But when you take a QB that high you don't want a game manager. I wouldn't at least.
Nix has a better chance than McCarthy but also has his problems. I do think the weight of the offense was on his shoulders at least. Also I like that he overcame failure in college, which leads me to think maybe he's got those balls he's gonna need to win in that pocket in the NFL. But I don't like his dependency on short passes. It's better than dependency on run game, but not by much.
Daniels is a hard one. I really liked his film at first but the more I watched him the more concerned I became with how quick he bails from the pocket. Thing is he is an incredibly gifted runner. That will help him year one. But he's a pussy in the pocket. Can make the throws, all of them, no problem. But yeah I suspect he'll show well year one then tank like Griffin did. You can't hide who you are at this level for long.
Maye will be fine. He stands in there and deals, kid has big balls. He never had top talent around him. I think he'll be just fine once he gets the offense down.
Both you @Elmgrovegnome and @Merlin have mentioned "in between Penix's legs" and "those legs"Between Penix legs and accuracy issues, I don’t see success.
I agree that Nix over dependence on short passes is limiting. Is he Garapolo 2.0 with better running ability?
McCarthy has been given a great chance to succeed. It would be funny if he ends up being another Kirk Cousins
Jayden Daniels has bust written all over him imo. He’s small and is quick to run while not keeping his eyes downfield. Your RG3 trajectory with him could be on point. He’s will likely get injured early on.
Williams and Maye have always been the ones thought to project best to the NFL. How Maye wasn’t the second pick is puzzling.

The first point of business for commissioner Fisher will be to limit all passing to five yards or less.
Maybe he’s not studying the play book..
A rookie qb has some trouble in one of his first practices. Oh my God. Cut him.
If a rookie qb isn't having trouble that's when you know the team isn't trying.
.
Maybe he’s not studying the play book.
He knows how to throw a football, but if he doesn’t know where to throw it, then that’s a problem.
We saw these reports early on with Trey Lance.
I’m not saying Caleb is already a bust, but let’s be honest.
There’s a realistic chance that Caleb could bust.
Glad he’s not our problem!

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams laughs off criticisms of his disastrous practice
I'm just going to say that I picked Caleb as the next bust QB before the draft. I just saw too many warnings signs when he played for USC.Or maybe he's just a rookie qb having rookie problems.
If your defense can't befuddle a rookie qb then your defense has problems.

That’s a hell of a bold predictionI'm just going to say that I picked Caleb as the next bust QB before the draft. I just saw too many warnings signs when he played for USC.
You and @RamFan503 are killing me. It’s been like one reported practice where a good defense understands concepts a rookie QB doesn’t.That’s a hell of a bold prediction
see how the kid takes criticism
IRL, those individuals who can take criticism and learn from it are the best team players. I would say promoted or boss, but we all know that ish just isn’t true.deadset, jared goff must have the thickest skin known to man.
all the shit thrown his way (media, mainstream and social) since he was drafted, and then traded and yet he has come out smelling like roses.
.
Shit I look at things from a gambling perspective mostly. I think the odds are he succeeds. The question is what level is that. You and @RamFan503 are killing me. It’s been like one reported practice where a good defense understands concepts a rookie QB doesn’t.
I seem to recall another rookie QB who lost his first 8 games as well and is now doing pretty good for himself.
Give it a couple years, see how the kid takes criticism, and how it works out as the game slows down for him. Granted, if he is immature and impatient, then it’ll be a big problem.
I actually love that he has continued to throw dirt in the faces of those media turds all these years!deadset, jared goff must have the thickest skin known to man.

Being criticized by a dumb as like Foolio and a legit NFL talent evaluator/coach are two different things.IRL, those individuals who can take criticism and learn from it are the best team players. I would say promoted or boss, but we all know that ish just isn’t true.
Defense under 40 sacks avg Donalds 1st 3 years so very good on paper maybe. Actually Hayes the mermaid man started more games at LDE when Donald joined. Long missed over half the season with an injury and had only 1 sack. Can you imagine just 1 sack from a DL spot alongside Donald in the line?? I think that's when the hurries argument became a valid excuse for some. Long was the chaser! Posters on the Dispatch were calling them the next fearsome foursome!! Trying to recall what Boinie was saying... probably something like "Let's not get ahead of ourselves there guys!" (chew, gulp, swallow, burp!!) The players themselves preferred the monicker of mob squad. When AD joined the team it was Long, Donald, Brockers, Quinn.

Wasn’t it that “expert” cosell who said he knew goff couldn’t play in the NFL? He said it only took a few throws to know that, not just a few games!
What do these guys really know? How to say enough to keep their jobs?
