I think western society is way too pussified. We are run by cowards who condition us to remove all risk and glorify weakness and vulnerability, which leads to a weak and ineffective society of cowards that will end up being destroyed by a stronger society. Groups, after all, fall under the same rules of the universe as individuals in natural selection.

I have a different way of seeing things I realize. So let's disagree and you can pat yourself on the back, shake your head at what a fuckhead I am, and most importantly save everyone all the sob stories that will follow the one you just offered up.

While I'll agree with a lot of this, I won't agree that this is a good example of what you're getting at.

Civilized doesn't equal weak. In fact, it is quite the opposite. Countries run by thugs use strong arm tactics on their own people and are generally places in which NONE of us would want to live.

The idea that this guy could puff out his chest and yell that he never loses and all that happens to him at the time is that he gets put on social media should disturb everyone.

Look. I'm not into this whole victim mentality we see too much of but in something like this, I think it's abhorrent that anyone would ridicule the actual victims in this case. All ridicule should be directed towards the asshole attacking them.

It's not about weakness. There will always be different levels of "strength" in society. But it is a troubled society when this kind of behavior is laughed at or dismissed.

So now if I go out in "public" I should expect this? Fuck that. I go out in "public" more than almost anyone I know. I have been to hundreds of games - most of which have been in enemy territory with me wearing my gear. While I do have my head on a swivel in most situations, I would still be surprised by someone indiscriminately suddenly putting their foot in my chest.

I grew up in gang land USA for several years. I have walked through Watts with my Ducks gear on. I have walked through Oakland after several Rams and Dodgers games. I have walked through the back alleys behind the Bell district in Seattle wearing my Rams gear.

This could have happened to me for sure if some asshole outweighing me by a third decided to run up and kick me in the chest. And it would have happened to you too. I fucking guarantee it.

It's not about being an easy victim. You should NEVER have to expect that. And even if you did expect it, you wouldn't be ready for it in the situation portrayed in the video. The douche was running down the sidewalk and veered off at what he clearly saw as easy victims.

I don't think they even got hurt that bad - I'm guessing.

But do tell me. What do you envision they should have done? What in your head on a swivel scenario would you have done?

You can tell all of that from the video, both are walking together at the same pace down the street, one drops down to pick up something the other does now keep walking, the raven dude starts talking to the one on the right and the other redskin fan grabs a hold of the his friend, when the first one get's engaged the other one doesn't run off or look bewildered he is staying. They were together going down the street.

Maybe nothing happened to you because you were walking during the daytime when there is sporting events going on, plenty of security? Look at the time of this video. What time of day is it? The later the day gets the more sketchy thing get. I see it every year on this board about a football player being out at 3 am " nothing happens good at 3am" . This video doesn't appear to be at 3am but it's sure as hello not 4pm either.

You are sitting here having an argument with yourself regarding nothing I stated outside of of knowing if you go out in these events, areas, and amount of people your chances of having to defend yourself are significantly higher than if you are at the super market picking out which apples are bruised aren't they?

I'm not some dude who grew up in golden gloves or street fights or any of that, I was a fuckup who went to juvie and used the military to get out of trouble and never left. This is a philosophical difference and I am one of those people who doesn't really fit in any one group other than the career military group, who are filled with dudes like me who see the world through a different lens. But I don't really have a demographic, as mine would be blue collar atheists who believe humanity still needs religion and who think this society we are in is driving off a fucking cliff in multiple facets of its identity.

I don't expect anyone to agree with me. I think you have it wrong. Society doesn’t glorify weakness as much as it pushes the concept that people deserve to be happy and not judged.
