Was the hold on 4th down blatant? Mcvay at the presser seemed pretty steamed and then said "I won't comment on what I think happened on 4th down".

I haven't seen video footage to confirm it was blatant. I saw the aftermath of it i think but not the actual hold.

The DB grabbed Puka around the waste to slow him down in his cut. Yes it was a penatly, but IMO they didn't call it because the ball was uncatchable ( and because it's in Philly) . If it was close, they may get the call.

Yeah blowing a golden opportunity to go to the SB is tough to swallow. Don’t get many of those opportunities.

This game was like watching your pitcher throw a 5-hitter, striking out 14 and walking only 1, except 3 of the hits were long homers. More than half of the Eagle total yardage came on the three jailbreak runs.

What I didn't like about Kyren's fumble was that the ball was just laying out there to be punched out - bad ball security. That would have happened in any weather conditions.

Stafford raised his career YPG in playoffs to 299.6, and up to 3rd place all-time (from 4th; min 7 games). If Higbee had caught that one bad drop, Stafford would have been back over 300.0!

I like the fact Verse really showed up in this game. Yes, still not perfect, but this was year-one for him. Looking forward to the future. I hope Fiske's knee problem is not ACL-related, which could impact next season.

Our safeties and LBs are what they are....we need some more speed/talent to prevent some of these long runs in the future.

But Kyren's fumble.....based on what we saw this year, he fumbles there in any weather, any stadium, any situation and THAT is what this game came down to for me. If he doesn't fumble, we have a first down near midfield and we are driving. Even if that doesn't turn into points, we bury them deep and it feels likely that we eventually take the lead.

The long runs were bad, but I would actually contend that the worst defensive play of the game was giving up the 3rd and 14 from their own 5 before half. If we stop that, we have a good shot to get points before halftime, which also flips this game on its head.

I know a few on here aren't the biggest fans of PFF, but its hilarious to see some folks say Havenstein had a really bad game when to me Limmer and Dotson got abused the most by far on our offensive line.

I don't know if it makes me feel better or worse... but one thing to remember from this game is that fumble recovery is one of the most high-variance stats in the NFL.
"That's the way the ball bounces".... literally.
Philly recovered BOTH of their fumbles and BOTH of the Rams fumbles.. if just one of those goes the Rams way, we're possibly talking about playing Washington this week, instead of lamenting the loss.

Great job overall for a rookie, but he got his ass handed to him at the worst possible time. Some players step up in big games and some buckle under the pressure. He buckled unfortunately. With that said, to me and using my eyes, Dotson shit the bed worse. I I don't know how many times I saw him chasing a d-lineman that got past him on pass protection. I actually brought it up at the bar I was watching at a few times.

I wonder how much those ribs affected Stafford's throw because I also mentioned that same thing to a fellow Ram fan when we were at a watch party. I was like can't 100% ask for a flag if the pass is that far off target. Still should have been but not with the way those asshole refs were calling the game more in favor of the Eagles.

Not saying its easy but Dotson I would hope would be better suited, he did play in Pittsburgh, just saying lol....not trying to shit on the guy, just saying what I personally saw. Wish my eyes saw much better play but I'm just preaching to the choir there

One draft solution is Jihad Campbell of Alabama. Considered a late 1st early 2nd. In the mold of a Ravens LB. Inside thumper playmaker. Very quick, ability to play edge. So a versatile player. Would give them a special talent at LB to pair with Speights.

I keep saying after the sack Sean should have kept Williams into block the middle and instead Limmer gets beat twice in a row. If someone chips that extra second is all we needed for a better throw (and the person open in the middle instead of Puka) is a 1st down or a TD.

Yeah, max protect and make them cover for an extra second or two. They were having a tough time covering on the slick field.

He was, but I put that play call on Shula. And don't get me wrong, Shula was MONEY for most of this season.

But almost no LB is tackling Barkley one on one in space....I was screaming that it would be either a run or a screen - so whether you call a blitz or not, nobody accounting for Saquan out of the backfield and then only having one LB AND a blocker in front?

That is a play where I rush three, drop 8 and force Hurts to do something that he really hadn't shown he could for weeks now.

To be fair you're only as good as the players around you and Dotson has two players next to him. Hav and Limmer. If you look at pressures given up by Dotson it's almost always between him and Limmer and not him and Hav. If you look at yesterdays game, Dotson had the boneheaded false start which probably cost us the game, but Limmer had the boneheaded missed assignment on doubling Carter that lead to a game ending sack.

Yeah Dotson is probably better at run blocking, however his pass blocking will get better when Limmers does, that's just kind of how it works with interior linemen.
