He was 30 years old in 2017 and already had about 7 years in the NFL, I don't know what he'd been paid up to that time. It may not always be fair, but it's fairly common for a judge or jury to base financial judgements on past earnings, age and potential future earnings.
A homeless person without a strong employment record will just about always receive a fraction of what a higher paid individual collects, even in similar situations.

Former Indianapolis Colts lineman Joseph "Joe" Staysniak was arrested Tuesday after a domestic incident in which he was accused of assaulting his son and choking his son's boyfriend, court documents show.
Sounds like he may have caught his son and 'friend' doing the 'deed' in a car in the woods.

They are charging him with reckless driving and racing. Not sure why they aren't charging him with fleeing from an accident. I'm sure he also had some alcohol in his system which is why he would flee. So not sure what you mean... if they were racing and that's what caused the accident then he should definitely be charged with reckless driving and racing. They aren't charging him with anything the other person did.
My question is why are two people racing an Expedition and a Jeep?
Yeah I know it's fast. Just don't envision racing an SuV of any kind as a smart life choice.
