With the 144th pick of the ROD NFL Draft, the Panthers select,

Troy Anderson, LB, Montana State. This kid is a Swiss Army knife. Versatile just doesn’t do him justice. You could see him on the field on O, D, and ST. Hoping the Rams are looking at him.

It's getting late, and I might crash out soon.

TK42-RAM has my pick for 147th if needed!

Ok @Tron is tied up with something so we need to make a call for the Jets

They need just about everything and so far have taken DE, CB, OL, WR, ILB and RB

Thoughts?

How about Chasen Hines C LSU

Ok then I think we have dispensed with the need for a third so

With the 146th pick the Jets select

Chasen Hines C LSU

Overview
Burly, strong center/guard prospect whose strengths lend themselves to a fit with a power-based rushing attack. Hines can create run lanes as an aggressive drive blocker and is effective hitting targets on the move on pin-and-pull reps. He needs to drop some weight and improve his hand placement in order to sustain blocks as a pro. He protects the pocket with decent technique but might not have enough mirror to keep the gaps clean as a full-time guard. Hines has early backup value along the interior line with eventual starting talent that is best-suited at the center spot.
Strengths
  • * Built with wide hips and a big bubble. * Offers value as guard and center. * Races out of stance and into pull-blocking duties. * Aggressive into and through the block. * Churns through base blocks and generates drive when squared. * Pass sets feature perched, ready hands. * Punch is decisive and charged. * Enough flexion to drop an anchor quickly
  • * Efforts to maintain feel on moving rusher
Weaknesses
  • Doesn't win battle for inside hands often enough.
  • Longer two-gappers will be a concern for him.
  • Slow adjusting his assignment on the move.
  • Limited stride length for zone-blocking duties.
  • Doesn't bring his feet to mirror and collect the edge in protection.
  • Lacks reactive quickness for gap recovery versus twist.
  • Needs additional work with hand counters for the pro game.

"I was disappointed with how his weight spiked (in 2021). I thought it hurt his consistency and he needs to get it trimmed back down." -- Regional scout for NFC team

With The 147th Pick

In The Fifth Round

Of The 2022

ROD NFL Mock Draft

The Green Bay Packers Select:

Luke Fortner

Center

Kentucky

9848412.jpg

Overview

Height: 6' 6"

Weight: 300 lbs

40 Yard Dash: 5.21

Luke Fortner is a three-year starter inside Kentucky's zone-run scheme. He started for two seasons at right guard before making the switch to the pivot in fall camp prior to the 2021 season. He quickly adapted to the change, showing a natural feel for the angles, timing and spacing needed to efficiently operate as a zone run-blocker at center.

Fortner is smooth and quick coming out of his stance with good pad level, hand and hat placement to work across and hook shaded defenders on outside-zone runs. He excels fitting and working combo blocks with each guard, knowing when to overtake and release based on how the 'backer reacts.

Fortner plays with a wide, firm base and understands how to work underneath defenders when overtaking to create rotational force, torque and seal off the first level. He is agile on his releases to the second level, taking solid angles with good body control and balance to line up smaller targets off combos and in the screen game.

Once latched onto a block, Fortner can leverage his hips and hands to sustain, steer and widen defenders to create cutback lanes. He diagnoses gap exchanges quickly and knows how to adjust his aiming points on the fly to wall off movement across his face.

Fortner is an alert, active pass protector. He has the processing skills to sort out blitzes and line games, work off multiple threats and pick up late loopers.

With The 148th Pick Of The 2022 ROD NFL Mock Draft The Chicago Bears select

Dohnovan West C - Arizona St
F20C94E0-0EBE-44CF-9933-724AE39800FD.png

West is a three-year starter in Arizona State's multiple, run-heavy scheme with 29 career starts spread out across all three interior positions on the line (14 at center, 11 at right guard and four at left guard). West has below-average mass and girth on his frame but is compactly built with solid arm length and very good athletic ability.

With The 150th Pick Of The 2022 ROD NFL Mock Draft The Chicago Bears select

Cordale Flott, Cornerback, LSU

B6E01C16-3B16-4484-AEC7-EAD157F86A98.png

Cordale Flott is a versatile athlete with the ability to play as a nickel defender or as an outside cornerback. He has excellent height and length that serves well in both positions. Flott started at nickel for the LSU defense, where he was able to show off his fluid athleticism and quick feet. His versatility extends to him playing in both man and zone coverage. In man, he shows the ability to quickly get out of breaks and match short or medium routes. For his height, he does a great job of sinking his hips, though occasionally he has some hip tightness when opening to run. Here he can step in the bucket and round his breaks. As a zone defender, he does a very good job of using his vision and awareness to identify routes. This combined with his outstanding ball skills make for a great defender when he can see the ball thrown. When tracking the ball, Flott does a great job of using his hands to pluck the ball out of the air. At times, he can try to bait the quarterback a bit too much, causing him to lose vision of receivers.

As a run defender, Flott does a very good job of reacting to what he sees. He is an aggressive defender who triggers quickly with good physicality when taking on blocks, although he lacks the desired strength needed to control and disengage from blockers. There are even times when he may choose to run around blocks from linemen, creating a bigger running lane. When tackling, his lack of strength is also visible. He struggles to get ball carriers on the ground, while too often being on the wrong end of the hit. Flott is a cover defender who struggles in the run game. He will need to continue to work on adding weight to his frame, as well as increasing his strength for the next level.

With The 151st Pick Of The 2022 ROD NFL Mock Draft The Atlanta Falcons select

Noah Ellis, Defensive Tackle, Idaho

Elliss is a monster on the defensive line. Measuring 6’4” and 367 pounds, he is a force at the line of scrimmage. Not only is he a big body, but Elliss is surprisingly athletic for his size as well. He has great footwork and is effective with his hand placement on offensive linemen. He’s able to shed blocks and get into the backfield and disrupt the play before it happens. Elliss’ athleticism and polished technique is most likely due to the fact that his father is a defensive line coach himself and was also a Pro Bowl defensive lineman. Therefore, you need to take those genetics and offseason workouts into consideration. Elliss is a unique combination of incredible size, finesse, power, and footwork that makes him a Defensive Coordinator’s dream. Just look at this footage from the East-West Shrine Bowl in January:

With the 155th pick of the 2022 ROD NFL Draft, the Cowboys select,

Alontae Taylor, CB, Tennessee. This draft is really deep at the CB position for this guy to still be on the board. The Cowpies are very happy.
