Saints acquired the No. 16 pick, No. 19 pick, and a sixth-round pick from the Eagles in exchange for the No. 18 pick, a third-round pick, a seventh-round pick, a 2023 first-round pick, and a 2024 second-round pick.

It's a messy deal, but the trade boils down to the Saints buying a first-round pick this year at the cost a third-round pick in the upcoming draft plus future first and second-round selections. This isn't the first time the Eagles have acquired future selections at a discount as they got one of their three first-round picks this year by letting the Dolphins move up in the 2021 NFL Draft. The move also fits the Saints' history of being impatient with the draft picks they have. It's possible that the Saints are positioning themselves for a run at quarterback, though they may also see their roster as a few standout rookies away from being atop the NFC. Either way, Eagles GM Howie Roseman gets to continue stockpiling future draft capital while Mickey Loomis and the Saints are betting on their talent evaluators finding high-impact rookies once again.

Obviously the NFL is an outstanding organization one which you would want your sons or daughters growing up to admire and follow proper towards, right?

Not me, just happy my Dad raised me as a Rams fan so I'm stuck by personal choice, awesomeness when you're involved and invested.

Lets repeat and then I'm out. This is becoming too much Bullshit and most on here won't express anything but grooming, for numerous reasons. Pet and let them grow like a Chia Pet. CHA cha cha chia whatever the fuck.

At least I still go to badass concerts and still get up close at my age regularly. Enough about OBJ and Gilmore too just stop. We're spoiled already. ROD in the mirror lately, TMZ.

Good start for competition at punter. He has to work on direction and distance control. I imagine he learned somethings from Hekker.
Expect a later round draft pick or UDFA. I expect better results from Corey Bojorquez punting at SoFi than Buffalo and Green Bay.
The Browns signed him, not us.

Not a huge Gilmore fan, but as with Wagner, I will defer to this front office fully if they have identified him as a player that will excel in horns. The Rams' pro level acquisitions almost never miss. Literally. It defies NFL reality and warrants great deference. In terms of re-signing their own to wise contracts, the brass is more open to question.

I can't believe that we could possibly get Gilmore. I really HOPE we get him. But just can't imagine how we fit him in under the cap.

I’m probably way off here but hasn’t Gilmore been a bit injury prone in recent years?

You're Way-Off Buddy!

Seriously, you're not wrong. Gilmore has only played in 19-of-33 games the past two seasons; and he's only played a full-sixteen-game-season in three of his ten seasons.

Why wouldn't you be? When he played last year he was still very good. He's still has very good man coverage skills and it would add another veteran presence to the defensive backfield. We all saw how much that helped the younger guys in the playoffs.

He only played 9 games last year, but that's mainly because he held out and refused to play for the Patriots.

The Eagles are hoping next yrs Saints pick is top 10 or better, putting them in position the grab a franchise QB by trading up further with their other first rounder. Smart move because Hurts is at best a good back up or avg starter.
