There is legitimate concern league-wide that his knee will always be susceptible to injury and not a botched surgery the first time. I find it telling that OBJ backed away from Dallas when they wanted their docs to inspect his knee. Snead also mentioned that the Rams didn't do a medical inspection of his knee when he signed last year. iMO there is a strong chance that OBJ may never play again in the NFL. If he does it will be only as a backup rotational player with a commensurate salary level which I doubt his ego would ever accept. Now he's drinking or doing drugs so it's a very bad sign. He wasn't even allowed on a flight recently because of it.

I don't believe on saying this, but the Rams may have gotten the best FA in Mayfield.

Mariota apparently left the Falcons after he got benched. What a fucking infantile reaction. To think that I wanted to draft this guy at one point.

Really bone headed move by Mariota if he wants to get another contract from a team looking for a vet back up. There is almost no better job in football and he might have just screwed himself out of it. He sure as hell would have been superior to Wolfy and Perkins this year for us and probably many other teams.

And I realize that Mariota's wife is pregnant and due to deliver, I realize that he may, in fact, have a knee injury that could shut him down for the rest of the season, but leaving without a word is simply inexcusable; you still have a priority to your team, letting them know details to potentially shut you down for the season or let you go to your family, as I doubt that Smith would refuse to let Mariota be with his pregnant wife.

I mean, hell, look at Mayfield when compared to Mariota. Mayfield basically accepted the backup job with grace; Mariota did the complete opposite.

I totally regret wanting Mariota; now I really don't want him.

Well this isnt good news on the Baker front. Consider the Falcons a legit landing spot for a vet QB looking for a chance to start. Ridder could of course impress and all that, but I dont think he will and Falcons will be looking for a QB

OBJ options drying up quicker than an 80 year old hooker.

Yeah, OBJ is likely not playing this year... However, as a visual person... lemme just say... respectfully...and will all due respect...

If he’s a quitter, hard to see anyone even considering him for a backup.

I want the Rams to stay away from him, and assume other teams will feel the same.

Sounds like from the story, that Falcons OC, Dave Ragone's own career suffered because he did not prepare properly.
Falcons OC on QB's

Apparently Ragone is alert to the lack of preparation - and it seems like he is suggestion that Mariota wasn't fully vested, so he brought in Ridder to have a shot at this.

Then Mariota went all childish....

Asshole Face eyeing one of these three NFL teams for possible coaching return in 2023, per report

Asshole Face has made it clear that he could end up returning to coaching in 2023 if he can find the right situation and as of right now, it seems that he has his eyes set on three possible teams for his return.

Back in July, there was a report suggesting the Payton was eyeing the Chargers, Dolphins or Cowboys, but now, it seems that his preferences have slightly changed. According to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, Payton would prefer to coach one of the teams in Los Angeles (Rams or Chargers).

The former Saints coach is currently living in L.A. and working for Fox Sports.

"If he had his druthers, that is where he would remain, in the city of Los Angeles," Rapoport said. "If somehow or some way the Rams job or Chargers job came open, that would be something that Asshole Face would take a look at."

If the Chargers job opens, I expect him to land there. McVay isn’t abandoning the Rams like Payton did to the Saints.

The last four games for the Chargers are winnable I could see them going 4-0 or 2-2, but 11-6 is very doable and IMO, Payton is not going to be in play for either job Dallas could open up if the Cowboys don't win a playoff game or two, but again I'm going on record that the Chargers will be in the playoffs with hope they go 3-1 losing only to our beloved Los Angeles Rams.

On OBJ: I read just a while ago that this was his 4th injury to the same knee. I always thought it was his 2nd major operation. He may end up in a Gurley situation... injuries finally limiting his play when back on the field. Gotta get that last payday though before teams figure it out. But the airplane incident and the regular season comment isn't helping his cause.

On Mariota: very unlike him from what I've seen and read. Being from Hawaii too I've always seen him as a very respectful, polite, and humble young man. I guess we all have our Will Smith days. This sounds like a slap in the face to his stint in Atlanta.

The real question is if he is a good QB? However things are The Rams will get entertaining value from Baker. This story book is just beginning.
The Marcus story might be over.

You know What’s F’d up is everyone Wanted To Tell Brady His he should live his life & quit football & be with his wife & kids.

I think Marcus has made more than he ever will be worth as a NFL player.
-Tom Brady is still giving back.Mayfield just got released from a NFL Team that might win a division ?

Totally different circumstances.

Mariota left without a word, and while yes, family is important, you don't screw over the team in the process, especially not in the middle of the season in a playoff run when you're needed to back up the rookie quarterback. Now Atlanta is forced to rely on quarterbacks who have barely thrown any passes in the regular season because Mariota decided to take his ball and go home - again, without letting the team know and leaving them high and dry.

Brady has nothing left to prove. Hell, he said he was retiring before this year before quickly unretiring. In the process, he screwed over his family who was thinking he was going to retire and be with them. We're talking about a quarterback with his (undeserved) accolades, whom many idiots think is the GOAT. He has absolutely nothing left to prove, and at his age, should be spending time with his family. You know, putting less pressure on his wife, who has selflessly been there for his kids when he wasn't? Now she's divorcing him, and good luck ever getting his family to look at him in a good light.

To sum it up:

Mariota is a first round bust who refused to be a backup and left his team.

Brady is a future (undeserving) Hall of Famer who refused to be with his family.

Rams seem to like Browns defensive backs. They acquired Troy Hill, but that was understanding, since then they have signed CB Shaun Jolly off the Browns Practice Squad and now former draft choice Georgia Safety Richard LeCounte. FWIW if it leads to the release of Derion Kendrick I'm all for it.
