So Lawler is now on the active roster correct? I know he has been called up twice already from the PS

I think we saw Skowronek out there for one KO? Would be funny if a dude that big returned punts.
McVay said Kupp or maybe Jackson. I love the potential that Jackson would bring, but hate the injury risk. Ditto Kupp. Best if they just fair catch. But Howell may take Tutu’s ST spot. I wouldn’t mind seeing what he could do.

I'm fascinated to see what happens with Skowronek. I paid little-to-no attention to him until he made the final cut. Obviously, there are things the Rams really, really like about him and I can't wait to see what they are. I imagine him being a big slot could be a lot of fun if McVay can scheme him open.. have DBs trying to tackle him one-on-one.

As long as he can get open. I like his tough style. But it remains to be seen how he fits. With Kupp, Woods, Jefferson, Jackson, Higbee and Runningbacks, how do they get Skowronek into the game plan?

I am in the same boat.

I didn’t expect him to make the team… so, a little excited to see how he matches up at this level.

Not me, I had previously said that I thought we would cut a safety. Sucks because I liked Reed
Hate to see JR Reed depart from the Rams. I enjoyed him this preseason while I have not enjoyed what I have seen from Fuller, Rapp & Scott. Reed is slow but can bring the hit with his tackles & faster than Fuller.

I know that the Rams do not need a strong safety type defender in this secondary when you have two strong safety types starting in this secondary already who have issues in coverages, however, my eyes & heart tell me JR Reed would be an upgrade in the near future to a Rapp. Rapp is not improving.

I am glad that if one of the safeties had to depart the roster it was not Free Safety JuJu Hughes who will be seriously needed in the future because Fuller is no deep safety with any abilities or range to make plays deep in the secondary. Rapp is a completion machine for our opponent QB waiting to happen. Deep safety Nick Scott is not starting material & will be a UFA in less than 6 months.

I still maintain that 4 yr defender Kenny Young should be calling the defense. Fuller needs to give all his attention to his assignment on each snap in the deep secondary. DC Morris may not know it but he sure needs a full healthy DB Terrell Burgess starting & roaming in this secondary.

It's obvious I do not like the way DC Morris plays his secondary. Rams are 25th in passing defense, per Pro-Football-Reference, and have allowed the fourth-highest total of first downs through the air.

Seems like that'd be the case based on current practice squad rules.
It's going to be interesting on who is not activated for today's game. It will be telling.

Justin Lawler was by a far measure the best OLB'er I saw in the 3 preseason games. Very solid but not spectacular. Another positive going for Lawler is that he is a good backup to the ailing gimpy Floyd on the strong side. The rest of the OLB'ers are far more weakside defenders... Lewis/ Garrett/ Okoronkwo. Where Jamir Jones fits? I have no idea.

Since the Rams brought up Lawler for this game he is now on the MR53 no longer PS. I guess newly acquired to the MR53 Jamir Jones will not be activated today & his future is certainly an unknown. I would think he will be waived next week & hope that he can make it through to take Lawler's spot on the PS.

Og Okoronkwo is sure to be activated & see action today since he was brought up early do just that! Chris Garrett's status is not clear to me but I would think he would be active too. I believe DC Morris has made it clear that Lawler broken hand & all will be his SS OLB'er behind Floyd.
