I don’t know where to complain so I guess I will put it here. I’m rooting for Everett but the mental errors, drops and piss poor blocking constantly sinks our offense. If we could trade him he might excel in another scheme. He certainly would help a team in the pass game. But the way Mcvay uses his TE’s in the blocking game and schemes them wide open, we would be better served with a less athletic but top blocking TE with better hands upon contact.

Everett and Reynolds to me are like Brian Quick 2.0. Waiting and waiting for the execution to match the talent. Cant see why any team would want them at this stage. If they are still struggling with the Rams system after 3.5 years, how does a team think they can provide them benefit with only half a season left and no time to learn their scheme? Sure, when they are FA I can see why teams might be interested, but as a half season rental?

They dont need Reynolds, they have the same problem as the Rams, no deep threat. Boyd, Higgins and AJ Green arent giving up snaps to Josh Reynolds. I suppose Everett could be in play because they badly need TE help, but again, he's had trouble staying healthy, and learning the system.
But an enigma for enigma trade like Everett for Ross? Sounds good to me

I don't want to laugh at that, I know the Rams are going to be in serious issues with cap too.
Nah them and the Eagles are the two in really bad shape. Plus this is off the premise that the cap will drop to $175 million which I don't see happening at all, more likely it maintains the 2020 level. That puts us right about at cap level and a couple easy cuts that most people will suggest around here in the offseason if not next week will happen.

That makes me feel better.

Best to get them in the 2021 draft. No need to mortgage anymore the future for any attempt to plug several holes this season when we are a 9-7 team while playing the NFC West.

I am in yard sale mode here at midpoint of this season & it was my call I going to make every attempt to get additional 2021 draft selections by trading off TE Everett/ WR Reynolds/ OC Brian Allen/ OT Bobby Evans.
Boni, what's the deal with Bobby Evans? I thought from your other posts that you liked him.

Yeah I think this idea that they will reduce the cap and hold teams accountable to it, is laughable. I'd spend as if the cap was going up its normal amount. I surely wouldnt lose out on a player out of fear of what might happen, because it likely wont. And those who didnt clutch their purse will look foolish for doing so

I do! However, this Ram team will need 2021 future draft capital more to fill in free agent vacancies in other offensive & defensive units.

So many other playoff-contending NFL teams are hurting in their OL's @ RT right now. Meaning there is a real good chance that we might get a good deal in return for 2021 draft selection value. Rams really do not need what Evans brings at this team now.

Rams @ OT have OT's Joseph Noteboom & Tremayne Anchrum plus OT Chandler Brewer who will return next season. That three reserve OT's. I would prefer a 2nd day draft selection & might be an additional 3rd day pick too.

I somewhat get the hate for Everett on here but I really dont get the hate for Reynolds. He stepped in nicely when Kupp went out in ‘18 and has been a solid #3 guy especially when he was only a 4th round pick and is cheap. He has more size than any of our other guys. Would I like for him to be more physical? Sure. But he is the last of my worries on this team. I get that we need cap space next season and he would be a luxury at that point so Van Jefferson would make sense at that point but I still think Reynolds will be a key player if we were to go deep into the playoffs this year

What post do you think Evans is getting most of his daily work done at?

Noteboom who is mostly all OT material has been shifted to the OG position. You do not see that, as the reason for his disappointing play in 2019 & 2020?

Has Noteboom has an opportunity to play the position he played in college & paved the way for his drafting in the 3rd round in 2018?

Did Noteboom play well in his rookie season as the swing OT without any issues?

Has not Snead & the Rams Org. been ecstatic with the selection of OT Tremayne Anchrum in the 2020 draft?

Has there been anything but high praise coming from this Ram organization on OT Anchrum's work in this Ram OL?

Rams also have other 6-5 tall OL'ers like Coleman Shelton & Cohl Cabral who played & started @ OT in college under contract this season too in reserve.

Finally flv, I made it clear that I would advocate trading OT Bobby Evans for a 2nd-day draft selection that means either a 2nd or 3rd round draft selection. I even think Evans would be worth an additional late day draft pick to thrown in too. Otherwise no deal!:)

Snead may want to contact GB and Cleveland, and offer Reynolds for a 5th. I don't think our compensation in FA would be greater than a fifth.

So if we're not going to get better than what we'll get with comp pick than why bother? Depth is important and maybe he has to step in for an injured player for a few games or longer and puts up good numbers that earns him a bigger contract in offseason and gets us a better comp pick? Trading away players for 3rd day draft picks when we might need down the stretch doesn't seem worth it.

In his interview earlier this year Kromer mentioned he was getting work at LT if I recall correctly. Both him and Anchrum.

Its moot now but I would have rather taken a 5th in 2021 instead of hoping for the same in 2022.
Heck you could get a draft pick and they re-sign the guy in the winter....
