I think it's more likely Burgess ends up at nickel. This makes it look like JJ is gone next year. Either that or they're not sure they like him in this scheme.

Yes, thanks to Havenstein, Blythe, and to a lesser extent Whitworth. They spent a lot of draft capital on the o-line on the line but their plans were derailed by injuries last year. Whitworth was resigned for 2 years as a place holder for Noteboom. Blythe's contract doesn't guarantee him the start over Allen who outplayed both Sullivan and Blythe before he was injured. Corbett had a very good year in 2019 and that was not being with the o-line all season. He proved himself at LG. Edwards and Evans outplayed Havenstein and Blythe despite only coming in toward the end of the season. Yet they stabilized the o-line. The Rams are correct in staying the course with their o-ine plans. Rookies taken this year aren't going to play better than the guys they already have. Rookies on the o-line rarely play well if they started immediately. The speed of the game and quality of the opposition is just too great of a step up for guys who have to think their way through each snap.
Their current o-line needs time to practice and play together to gel as a unit. They are not as bad as last year's rating indicate.
Over Biadasz. Over any of the inside linebackers. I'm sorry, but I hate this pick, too.
They saying he a nickleBurgess is a good player just surprised we picked him!!! BPA bitches!
Honestly JJ is probably not going to be here next year.
I don't understand the hate for the Burgess pick. He's likely an instant starter.
I mean, I like the player but... did we need a safety? I guess maybe insurance since Jon Johnson might be on the outside looking in next offseason with Ramsey and Kupp both needing extensions.
It would be legit reason. In fact, I will enjoy listening to Podcasts all week with hosts losing their minds about the Rams picks....lolHahahah no

For next year that is a reasonable assumption. We lost Christian so I did expect them to get a safety or at least that it was on their need list. But this guy isn't a SS type. He's a guy who fits that Fangio scheme as a guy over the top. So I think we can read some intent or at least expectation on the part of the Rams.I think it's more likely Burgess ends up at nickel.
