That’s a sick trade for the Vikings.
That defense is going to suck to play against.
That is big news. He will pair with Danielle Hunter. Here a great article on the Vikings who had 15 player draft in 2020. They have a lot of player movement over the past two years. He is a great catch up article on them. They did lose good players on the D Line.

On paper it's a very good maybe even best in the league duo at DE. It might also be just a 1 year rental if not it could signal the end of the run for Cook there as they're gonna have to pay Yannick like they did Hunter and can a team have 2 top end paid DE on the same roster and afford the rest of it especially with a high end paid QB. They also have Anthony Harris they'll have to pay along with Cooks plus they gave Waynes good money this year. Lots of pay days coming up in Minnesota. That's also assuming Hunter can get and stay healthy.

Looks, smells, tastes, feels like a one year rental. IMO Cook would be priority over Yannick next year.

Possibly but paying running back.... especially one that has had injury problems especially an ACL.

Even if he does go elsewhere next year they'll likely get a third round comp pick when he signs a huge deal. Not a bad gamble to swap a second for a third to see if they get enough talent on D to try and win it all this season. Seems very Les Snead like.

Cousins has some big cap hits coming. Waynes is with the Bengals now. Cook could be out since he gets injured a lot. The Rams will be paying top dollar to two defensive players. The two DEs will get less than Donald and Ramsey so I guess it's possible. They did have a 15 player draft so maybe they have a plan.

I'm just glad he didn't go to the Hags or any team the Rams play this year.

Cook might be the third best back in the NFL. I would be surprised if the Vikings don’t try to resign him.

He missed 19 games in three seasons. Has a history of injury dating back to college. He is only 210 Lbs. I don't see how they give him a competitive long term extension. It would be too risky.

Vikings are a good team, this is a good pick up for them. Being so, as a Ram fan, this definitely gets my attention, as heavy pressure teams are our Achilles Heel and as Psycho said, a very Les Snead-like move.

Regardless, I think the Vikings will try to resign him. He had 1,100 rushing yards and 13 rushing TDs, 53 receptions and another 500 yards last year when he missed only two games.

Vikings acquire Yannick Ngakoue in trade with Jaguars

After an uncertain future in Jacksonville, Yannick Ngakoue now has a new home.
The Minnesota Vikings have acquired Ngakoue from the Jaguars for a 2021 second-round pick and a conditional fifth-round pick in 2022, sources tell NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
ESPN first reported the story.
NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport later reported, per an informed source, that both sides agreed to a one-year contract worth a few million less than the franchise tag, which is what it took to get the initial deal in Jacksonville done. Ngakoue was set to make $17.8 million with his former team but he will now take less to play in a place he wants to make his home.
Rapoport added that the plan is for Ngakoue to approve the trade Sunday and begin the process of heading to Minnesota for physical and COVID-19 testing. He's expected to sign when he goes through the protocols.
Vikings coach Mike Zimmer declined to comment on the pending trade while talking with reporters but did offer insight on the importance of what adding a top-notch edge rusher does for the defense.
"Well, we've been looking for a pass rusher for quite a while and I think that's important when you have a young secondary, as well," Zimmer said. "So, if it goes through, then I think that adds to what we can do."
Ngakoue's dissatisfaction in Jacksonville has been widely publicized since being the only player not to sign his franchise tag tender this offseason. With the deadline to reach a long-term deal having passed -- which is what Ngakoue has been after amid a holdout -- the Vikings will now finalize a restructured one-year tender to complete the trade, sources tell Pelissero.

Along with the 2021 second-round pick, Pelissero reports that the conditional fifth-rounder in 2022 can become a fourth-round pick should Ngakoue be a first-ballot Pro Bowl selection, or a third-round pick if Ngakoue is a first-ballot Pro Bowler and the Vikings win the Super Bowl.
Ngakoue has started all but one game in his four-year career and has earned a reputation as one of the league's premier pass rushers. The 25-year-old had 37.5 sacks, 14 forced fumbles, and two interceptions in 63 games during his time in Jacksonville.
Ngakoue is a welcomed addition to a Minnesota defense that will line him up opposite Danielle Hunter, giving the Vikes a stellar pair of young pass rushers. Hunter, 25, recently became the quickest to 50 sacks in NFL history this past season. Although Hunter hasn't practiced in two weeks for precautionary reasons, Pelissero added that he isn't expected to miss extended time.

Cook is a damn good player, but yeah; I’d be gun shy on a new deal.

It sure looks like potential conflict nailing down his value.

I didn't want to try to figure out a fair deal because it would be hard to do. Vikings paying him $1.31 Mil this year. These contracts can be misleading with Henry having 15 Mil cap hits. It's a three year extension which sounds about right. Since they are getting a deal this year they could reason giving him a raise this year which is due. However, they don't have cap space to spare this year. The extension signing bonus would have to be prorated for this year plus his original signing bonus cap number. This trade could make it impossible to give him a new deal this year. If they don't get an extension this year he will be a free agent.

Do you want to see a team in cap hell? Look at the Vikings next year. That is cap hell. To keep Ngakoue someone will be released or not signed, as Ngakoue, market value will probably be between $17-$18M when they will be $11-$12M in the red. This is why I've been saying the Rams have been very good in their cap management. They are always looking a year or two ahead.

Don't know if it's worry or camp bodies but a lot of kicker action going on.

One of the camp reports they made it sound like the Rams may keep 2 kickers, implying find a way “to secure 2 on the roster” with the new rules... or maybe using the practice squad.

I would feel better if they did... rather than take whatever table scraps the rest of the league leaves behind, if our first choice struggles out of the gate.

I saw the Bears coach Nagy said they will. But with their history I totally get it.
