Slay now the NFL’s highest paid corner. The market is set for Ramsey. Pull it together Les - 5 year extension.

Titan fans were glad to get rid of him and he did nothing special in Minnesota. He’s JAG.

A number of Vikings fans called him a solid starting OG upon the news of his release. He doesn't move the need much here, but he's a solid player.

I’ll sum him up for you: Deep threat. Take that part of his game away and he’s no 1000 yard receiver. He was brought in to play the Desean Jackson role.
Cooks was brought in to be Cooks. I've watched him from OSU to obviously the Rams. Yes he's fast but he's mostly quick. The vast majority of his yards come on short passes, not the occasional long catch. He's far from a one trick pony. You have to respect his speed but he catches a lot of passes underneath and has been very willing to go through the middle. He seems to have paid the price for that willingness but to say he's only there as a deep threat is really ignoring his game.

You can argue the merit of his contract but a consistent 1,000 yard receiver and 20th overall draft pick is going to get that kind of money.

I live in MN and watch the Vikings every week and from what I saw, he is no better than Blythe at guard. He played one year on a three year contract with MN and one year on a four year contract with Tennessee prior to being signed by the Vikings.

"I mean...okay. But why? Kline, signed in free agency last year from Tennessee, was one of the guys most people thought (myself included) was one of the strengths in an offensive that needs to be upgraded.

Now, it needs more upgrading. With the release, the Vikings save about $1.5 million in cap money, but at the cost of almost $4.5 million in dead cap. If there was a guard I thought might be released not named Kline, I was looking at Pat Elflein, who had a salary bump of $2.3 million, and had they cut him would have incurred only 200K in dead cap, realizing $2 million in savings.

I have to say, I’m having a hard time figuring this one out. I looked at his PFF rankings, and his run blocking was graded out at a 62.3. Knowing that the Vikings are going are really going to full on run first, maybe the thinking is it’s time for Dru Samia to step up and shine. Samia has only played RG in college, Elflein graded out as a better run blocker (66.2, not much, but I’m trying Ringo, I’m reeeeeeallllly trying), and the Vikes do need to get younger.

Unless there’s an underlying injury we aren’t aware of, or a locker room issue like there was with Diggs, or setting up to make a trade that would significantly upgrade the position...I’m scratching my head."

I think it's as simple as Kline looks like he's 35 years old on his film. Meanwhile Elf is like 25 with potential for some upside.
