You shouldn't post you are wasting everyones time with this shit. Cooks is a great player not a one trick pony. He had 4 straight years of over 1100 yards and around 80 catches. He and Woods always made clutch hard catches. He is a deep threat but all the receivers in McVays offense run the deep routes.I will always think they were bad. Gurley’s contract was unprecedented. He was the first runningback to get those numbers and it set up Zeke for his big payday. Zeke doesn’t get that much if Gurley didn’t. That contract was so far out of whack with RB contracts at the time.
Cooks is a one trick pony. Take away his speed and he’s not a great receiver. If it was Hopkins, or maybe Greene in his prime, okay but Cooks is not that type of receiver. He’s more in a support role as a deep threat.
I think it does. Click on the dead cap hit and it will break down all the options.

Glad that Littleton got his money. Even better that we could have a third round compensatory pick for him.
$4.2M x 3 = $12.6M + $7.55M = $20.15M
That's unlikely based on his salary. But maybe his performance (or other teams canceling out their comp picks) can change that.
I’d say it’s really good luck for him, if he didn’t ink it before that game what kind of contract would he have gotten?Gurley was the NFL's best offensive player for two years in a row. He was money. He deserved that contract. He is also a great guy. It's just a shame that he injured his knee in the very first game after signing it. Just horrible luck for him, and us!
Saffold got paid $11mil per and we received a 3rd. Maybe we will get a 3rd, unless that 4th year carries a little weight in the formula. That's unlikely based on his salary. But maybe his performance (or other teams canceling out their comp picks) can change that.
The dead cap is the unrealized hit from the signing bonus, his salary guarantee is nextI think it does. Click on the dead cap hit and it will break down all the options.

A lot of bigger free agent salaries so far this year. Saffold also was slated to be a 4th then some of the guys ahead of him missed time and some got cut or other things and Saffold moved up, we were expecting a 4th for him.Saffold got paid $11mil per and we received a 3rd. Our opponents getting a little weaker at least.
Good question, I guess we'll have to see how it plays out. I don't know exactly the criteria on how the picks are given out. Most people thought we would receive a 4th this year, but we ended up with a third. So far we would have two picks next year. either 3rd or 4ths, of course that would change if we lose more or sign someone. My question would be how does the money for FA contracts last year compare to what has been shelled out so far this year? $11M was probably further up the food chain than what it is this year. Seems to be a lot more high priced contracts being thrown about at the moment. That will have an effect on where our comp pick falls.
Agreed. Would love to poach him. Looks like it's Denver though.Curious how much he gets, wouldn't be a bad signing to replace Brockers.
If we trade him before March 20th the new team has to pay Gurley (I'm assuming you're asking about him) his guaranteed roster bonus which drives the return we could get for him down. On the other hand if we pay it the team trading for him would have to offer more to compensate for not having to pay him as much. At least that's what I see looking at the info.I'm just trying to figure this out and am glad you guys know more about how it works than I do. My simple question is if March 20 is a big day or not. If something is going to happen on the trade front, will it likely happen before Friday?
