It's like the Ravens and Seahawks just always seem to fleece other teams.
Campbell has had a nice career but he's 34 and his play has declined each of the last few years. This is supposedly going to come with an extension for said 34 year old declining player so I'm not sure anybody got fleeced, at least until we see what the Ravens pay him then they may be the ones getting fleeced.

The age thing is accurate but he's still playing with a really high level of production. Can't imagine they couldn't have gotten at least a 3

That was before McVay. That was not a good look for the Rams franchise.

Concerning Mathews, as stated I don't see the Rams stringing him along if they plan to cut him. If they plan to do so they would do it before they have to pay the $2 million roster bonus. Why waste that money? Sure the Rams could cut him later if they choose. They could trade him as well. When there are no guarantees they anyone can get cut. I get the Rams can wait on these cuts. Considering Mathews took a discount to sign with the Rams, is a local product and his standing in the league I don't see the Rams waiting to cut him. This is a new era for the Rams. They will make hard business decisions but, I believe they want to be seen as a player-friendly organization.

I've ready at least 50 Jags fans today say he's steadily declined over the last two years. They've also in their own mock offseasons had him being traded or just cut.

Ravens getting Campbell for a 5th round pick. Fuck. That dude was a beast last year (and has consistently been one for that matter) so if he's even 75% of the same player they made out like fucking criminals getting him for that price.

Huge addition to their defense.

Always like Campbell. Not the same pass rusher he was but, he can play the run and disrupt. The Jags aren't going to compete anyway. Would like to see the contract. It could be good for Ravens if they move cap hit to next year when the cap goes up a lot more. Maybe the Jags should have held out for more than an apparent late fifth-rounder.
