Statiscally, Baker is miles ahead of the rest of these QBs.

Man ion had a huge flaw. He is a statue. No mobility, can’t sense pressure.

I don’t recall siting any stats. I just sad Mayfield doesn’t have any holes in his game. He only has one negative, which I think scared some media types into lowering their rating on him. He has a lot of swag. He is arrogant and likes attention. That doesn’t mean he can’t play or be coached. He did fine at Oklahoma. His personality didn’t hold him back.

You didn't cite any particular stats you just said he was "statistically miles ahead" oh and he has that ever important trait of moxie. As I said Baker could be a good QB, personally I see his ceiling as Case Keenum, but to call him miles ahead of the other QB's and he's the only one with moxie is your right. I disagree but I'm not going to berate people for disagreeing with me. Just pointing out you're the one saying he was statistically better than the rest by miles. I'm saying if you plan your QB of the future based on college stats you're playing with fire.

Everyone loves to pile on the Browns. It is a different regime.

I have been saying Mayfield is the best QB in the draft for weeks btw. No secret there.
I agree with you.
Mayfield backed up his cockiness by playing well in big games, that's a huge difference from many other QB that put up crazy stats in college

Later, the Seahawks took San Diego State’s Rashaad Penny with the 27th pick. It was a confusing selection—few considered Penny the second-best running back in the draft, and the Seahawks have plenty of other needs besides running back. Any time you can use a first-round pick to fill a non-pressing gap with a not-highly regarded player at a non-important position, you gotta do it.

Nice dig at the Seachickens ... lol ... great use of sarcasm. Throw in a slow clap and it's complete.

Bet Schotty was pounding the table for this one, trying to be too clever by half as usual.

Falk is more like Keenum imo. Mayfield is very complete on the field. The gamble is his cockiness. Sometimes that is bad: Manziel or Leaf. Sometimes it is Golden : Elway or Favre. Compared to the rest of the QBs in this draft I would take the risk on his character and hope it translates to leadership

Well .. here is a quick Break down on how the Picks went, and my personal take!
QB's = 5 taken.
RB's = 3 taken, " No Guice!?"
WR's= 2 taken, Late, #24 and #26, poor Class?
TE's = 1 taken.
OT's = 3 taken.
OG's = 1 Taken. Speaks well for the Notre Damn O-Line.
Center's = 2 taken.
DE's = 2 taken.
DT's = 3 taken.
LBers = 4 taken.
CB's = 3 taken.
Safeties = 3 taken.

Lot's of talent still out there!!

* Cleveland took QB Baker Mayfield and shocked the Football world! Then a real shocker @#4 took CB Denzel Ward! No knock on the Players, But I think they Blew-IT!!

* Arizona Picked Josh Rosen, Surprised, I think he'll be Bradford 2.o! Complete with injuries!

* The Saints Trade up to Draft DE Marcus Davenort, WHY!!

* Dallas didn't go WR!!! But the got Vander Esch!!

* And the Freaking Hag's got my favorite RB Rashaad Penny!! BITCHES!!

He might not be as much of a minority as some think. Mayfield played a tougher schedule than both of the California kids, and excelled. And you might not care for him because of this factoid or that whimsicality. He is a polarizing kid. He's someone you would love if he's on your team. and someone you'll hate, if he's not. I think Cleveland will be an interesting team this year. Taylor is supposed to guide them this year. But then again, Mayfield did walk on at 2 different teams and claim the starters job in his first year's of eligibility. And he'll be an underdog to do it this year. Will his game translate to the next level..... I have no idea. But it'll be a fun ride to watch from a distance.
Yes. Agreed. Will be a fun ride. I never mentioned that I don't like Mayfield. I do. But, drafting is all about the odds of success from each pick. I don't think the odds of Mayfield warrant a number one pick, and therefore think it was a bad move.

I was looking forward to the new regime. But, then they pull a first round draft just like the regimes of the past...shocking if you ask me. Cleveland deserves to be piled on until they get it together, just as the Rams experienced until lately.

I like Mayfield. I just don't like him at #1.

Smith was the undisputed star of the NFL Network’s draft coverage, and I now believe that all NFL games should be broadcast with Steve Smith’s running commentary.

Don't agree. He fumbled his words and looked out of place as an analyst. I was as embarrassed for him last night as I am for Peter King every week. (n)

In the end we cannot be certain about any of these picks. Many will have short careers. All that you can do is go by what you know and think. Also you can look at the track record of the guys picking the players. I like Mayfield and trust Dorsey’s judgement. So, I am good with the pick.

I don’t think Darnold or Allen will be great, but won’t call any GM dumb for picking them. I don’t see any Tim Tebows or Johnny Manziels, that make me think that there is no doubt that they will fail and any GM picking them in round 1 is stupid. Although Allen is close to that imo.

Well the Jets now have 5 QB on their roster, just need to pick up 1 more so they can have 1 QB for every day of the week.
Except Sunday
Who says the Jets would only use one QB Sunday? They have enough QBs now for one every down, plus a backup!

It is implied here that the Browns as a whole are a dumb organization that should freely be ridiculed for any move they make. It’s a National trend.
Good lord over sensitive much? You implied meaning of people and threw around negative ratings throughout this thread.

This clearly is me calling them dumb. LOL

I don't hate Baker I just think Darnold is a better and safer pick. Best of luck with Baker though Browns.

Negative ratings? Since when is disagreeing, a negative rating? I am out of this conversation with you. You are way too sensitive about me disagreeing with your opinions.

Yes. But, the track record of every GM are full of both hits and misses. Most people think yesterday's picks are going to be misses, in other words not worthy of the risk for a #1 and #4 in the draft.

I mentioned I like Mayfield, but what are the chances he becomes the next Manning, Brady, Brees, etc.?

I would have thought they would have went with Barkley, and then Rosen or Allen. I would have liked that much better for the Browns. Would have good possibility for some awesome punching power with those picks.

Nobody is, he wont be the next any of them. All you're looking for is for him to be Mayfield
