The Jets recently released long-time Center Nick Mangold and were looking for the suitable replacement that will anchor the interior of the offensive line for the next decade. Pat Elflein, widely regarded as the best center in the draft class, fits perfectly into the void. As a powerful and aggressive blocker, he was frequently compared with Mangold. Pat is a committed teammate and competitor, who has proven himself on the big stage by winning a National Championship. He is versatile enough to play any position on the inside of the line and very consistent with his snaps.

Having gone in the second round in many projections, the Jets had felt they made a mistake by choosing Juju Smith-Schuster over him earlier in this draft. As he surprisingly slipped this far into the 3rd, the Jets felt it was necessary to trade up to take him and are proud to welcome him aboard!
