Methinks you guys are right - there's some kinda tip-off with our WR reverses & screens, because the Giants -- the GIANTS -- seemed to be ALL over them.
In 2018, it was the Bears / Lions who exposed the flaws in our O scheme & handed the Cheats the blueprint on how to beat us w/ 6-man fronts. This here Gnats game has that kinda feel.... it feels like we got exposed. I sure hope McVay figures out what it is & fixes it, or just changes things up or something because it looks like our D is legit enough for a deep playoff run.

When we used motion to disguise run and pass and kept mixing it up, it allowed for 2 TDs.

When we used no motion, we were flat and unproductive.

Why McVay abandoned all the motion and the success it was bringing...I dunno... but he did.

Agreed. It looked like McVay took his foot off the pedal for the offense after the first drive. Then decided to up the rhythm considerably on the last TD drive. The Rams did miss a golden opportunity with a 1st and goal at the 5 only resulting in a field goal. I have to give credit to the NYG defense as they played their butts off but all in all a strange offensive game plan by McVay.

Hill is as good as gone. He's just too inconsistent and looks lost in zone.

What the Rams are thinking right now is that they need to get a look at some of their other nickel options. IMO. They need to know what they have and Hill's inconsistency has opened that door.
I'm gonna give Hill until mid point of the season. New scheme and new position. He's not the only one who looks lost in the secondary.

Hill looks a half step behind everyone else. Always in catch up mode. Is he nursing any injuries?

I expected lapses and missed assignments and all that—new defense and all; but there’s a difference between lost and invisible.

1)Where is our pass rush? It seems like nearly every sack is a coverage sack and we just chase down the QB. This is putting a lotta strain on the secondary.
2) too many big plays in obvious situations.

...but they seem to get it together in the nick of time. I’m surprised they have given up so few points.

This last game was a wake up call to McVay (hopefully). He tends to get the “Martz” syndrome. He gets bored/ greedy and tries to get more players involved and starts calling some weird stuff.
If it ain’t broke...

Our STs suck.

Goff can’t keep taking inopportune sacks. STEP UP or throw it away.

By all means. But that was last year for me. Hill was so up and down on film last season it drove me nuts man. And that was a scheme that fit him really well. :beer2:
