28 points on under 50 plays is damn effiexent on O.

Special teams and the defense both contributed largely to that efficient point total. Truth is the Rams offense had trouble all damn day driving the field. As usual against a good defense.

I don't like the look of the Seattle game at this point for that reason. In their house our offense is going to have to show some serious damn growth to go in there and win.

I don't think it was that Gurley didn't get enough carries, it was on that one play where Goff got stripped where they should have run the ball. Im not sure who you blame more on that play Goff or McVay.

Gurley is the 2nd or 3rd leading rusher in the NFL, and the Rams are the 2nd highest scoring team in the NFL. His weakness is not doing what fans want him to do in retrospect. I'd bet my bank that if he ran too much, people would tick and moan that he didn't throw enough. I won't partake in questioning what this guy sees on the field and pretend i know how he should do his job. Do you even see the difference in this team right now compared to the last 4 years?

I won't spend another second debating this.
It is funny.
After years of "we need,WRs a QB and an imaginative attacking passing game" we have people calling for a run heavy O.
Results are what matter and McVay has gotten them way beyond expectation.
I will say it again....28 points on 45 or so plays is wildly effective.

I don't want a run-heavy offense. But there are times where it would be nice if we wouldn't go away from the run so quickly.

If Tru doesn't commit that dumb penalty u take 7 points off the board and believe we win easily... I put this on Tru and the defense

And this was the real key to the game.
And why some of the D penalties were so brutal.
The Rams had the Eagles in plenty of third and longs and had a hard time getting them off the field.
It is the same problem we had against the vikings. Defense can't get off the field consistantly and our offense sits for 20 minutes and gets cold.

Lol it is that simple in games when Goff has thrown the ball over 40 times and Gurley only got like 12 carries with 3 coming over the last 3 quarters in a game. The problem is in some of those games getting away from Gurley didn’t backfire and so it kept McVay thinking that was cool but when you have one of the best backs in the league that’s inexcusable win or lose because I guarantee you If he continues to do that in the playoffs we go be one and done
I mean personal, alignments etc.
Vs the Saints is a perfect example. Attacking s team with backup CBs in and not going dime made sense. Why attack a teams strength in a close game. The game thread was littered with run run run whining. After the last decade or so, If it works I'm not complaining.

I agree.
I think that has as much to do with what McVay sees matchup wise. Or maybe it is just his approach as a play caller.

Which is frustrating when he doesn't play it safe in a situation like the one we had today. You gotta know when the juice is worth the squeeze. We have a one-point lead. They have Foles. Make them earn a win by driving with Foles. Don't hand it to them by getting aggressive in a situation that doesn't call for it.

If we had Havenstein at RT, I'd be fine with the play-call, but you gotta adapt to what you have.

26 pass attempts, 17 rushes.

Gurley had 16 touches of his own.

Let's not single out anybody in this one. Team loss.

Sorry bro, i am going to single out TRU for being unable to control his mouth and costing us 7 points and the momentum.

I just listen to McVay criticize himself for the long pass call on the fumble (press conference). I'm not saying he should run there but, a shorter safer route makes more sense. You can't get a turnover there period. A couple first downs at least to give the defense a rest. The next series the Eagles stuffed the first down run and put the Rams behind the chains. What happen to the screen pass?

Juice is worth the squeeze. Haha. Like that.
Or at least give Williams some help.
Williams was solid at LT.
But LT and RT are not the same.

The game will be easier for Goff if we run the offense through Gurley. More guys in the box, more man coverage, and we’d be much more successful in play action.

It’s not a slight to Goff, it’s just Todd is really freaking good, and success in the running game keeps opposing offenses off the field, wears down their defensive fronts, and creates more room for big plays in the passing game. It’s the height of stupidity to run the offense any other way.

At minimum, we need to play it safe and make them earn it. We have a backup RT in. We are up one point. They have Foles in. Play it safe, and worst case scenario, you make Foles drive down the field and win. McVay needs to learn from that mistake. Don't underestimate the difference losing a starter can make.

That’s cool and all but at the same time you don’t keep putting the game in the hands of your second yr QB. There are stretches in every game where we are going 3 and outs without running the ball in consecutive series like I said it’s been working some times but like the Seattle game and today’s game it didn’t work. But he’s so used to not leaning on Gurley and wants to throw the ball around that it’s hard to change those habits. All I’m saying is don’t want to be Seattle and throwing on the one yard line

Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and climb out on this limb here.
You can't call a game better than McVay can.
Ergo, I'll just defer to what he sees.

Well that is sound logic.. but using this logic message boards would die!

Gurley had 8 carries for 89 yards on the Rams TD drives.

Good things happen when you put the ball in his hands.
