Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and climb out on this limb here.
You can't call a game better than McVay can.
Ergo, I'll just defer to what he sees.

Lol, I can't do math as well as Stephen Hawking but if he says 2+2=7 I still know that he's wrong.

So then you agree, because McVay criticized himself for calling a pass play with Havenstein out of the game.

I still love McVay, but he needs to learn from this. He keeps abandoning the run at the worst times. There are times to be aggressive. There are times to play it safe. We lost today because he picked the wrong time to be aggressive.

I agree with your overall point, but when today did he choose to be aggressive when he shouldn’t of?

When he decided to go for a PA shot on first and ten right after Havenstein got hurt. It was the play that cost us the game. He called a long-developing passing play with our backup RT in instead of running the ball, using the clock, and forcing Philly to drive the length of the field to win it.

The running plays stopped right after the two separate OT injuries. We don't have any depth at OT. Major drop off. So we need to do dump offs not 5 step drops or Gurley up the middle. We are growing. We didn't lose our starting young and learning QB tonight. Foles is not gonna win a playoff game.

i couldn't figure out why Wade didn't blitz more, especially when Foles came in. We weren't getting quite enough pressure with the front four. On the TD Wentz threw after he hurt his knee, he had all day to throw. I realize our corners were hurt when Foles was in there, but if you blitz, he has to get rid of the ball quickly and be on target. I would have taken my chances.
Probably because two of our CB were out.
Foles isent great but he's still an experienced QB who could exploit a blitz.
The Wentz TD was just Fing luck. Wasn't even throwing to that guy.

You are right. However, even the best play-callers get it wrong sometimes. Every play-caller has weaknesses. We know Sean's weaknesses. He needs to turn them into strengths.
Gurley is the 2nd or 3rd leading rusher in the NFL, and the Rams are the 2nd highest scoring team in the NFL. His weakness is not doing what fans want him to do in retrospect. I'd bet my bank that if he ran too much, people would piss and moan that he didn't throw enough. I won't partake in questioning what this guy sees on the field and pretend i know how he should do his job. Do you even see the difference in this team right now compared to the last 4 years?

I won't spend another second debating this.

Sure. If that's what he said, then he would know better than me.
He must have known for sure that it would have ended up like that. I mean, he is clairvoyant.

Absolutely. But even the best make mistakes. McVay needs to own it and learn from it if he wants to improve.

The one issue I had, towards the end, was seeing us run to the right, when Havenstein was out. Why not run up the gut or stretch to the left?

Havenstein was back in. He got pushed back 5 yards on the play.

Shows how much you know.
Oh, we're gonna be dicks to each other now?
I'm just saying what my memory is bringing up on stretch plays in the recent past.
if I'm wrong, show me some examples. I'm not opposed to being corrected.

It’s bigger then just this game. This has been an ongoing issue with McVay since jump. Gurley need 20 plus carries every game. McVay won’t run Gurley for a whole quarter or two and with us with the ball in the 4th quarter with a lead you choose not to run Gurley but it has become a common theme
It's not that simple.

I deleted that because it was too much, I agree. But I can't stand it when people refuse to hear criticism of a coach just because that coach is successful. I love McVay but he has faults and weaknesses like everyone else. The #1 complaint with him in Washington was that he would get too pass-happy and forget about the run. Goff was getting pressured and almost was strip-sacked more than once today before Long got to him. A consistent running game helps that.

Lol it is that simple in games when Goff has thrown the ball over 40 times and Gurley only got like 12 carries with 3 coming over the last 3 quarters in a game. The problem is in some of those games getting away from Gurley didn’t backfire and so it kept McVay thinking that was cool but when you have one of the best backs in the league that’s inexcusable win or lose because I guarantee you If he continues to do that in the playoffs we go be one and done
