When you look at next year it's going to be shocking what kind of team this will be. Harris, Tutu, Rochell, Funk now add in all the proven weapons like AD, Ramsey, Floyd, and Robinson, and this team really will be fast and talented on both sides of the ball. This could end up being among the best rosters the Rams have ever had. AD is a lock HOFer, Ramsey is clearly knocking on that door as well. Stafford only needs a Super Bowl win to lock his resume up. What team would have 3 HOFers playing on the same roster?

This team is special and is about to be unleashed upon the NFL. If they play up to their talent level this team can go undefeated. Their greatest enemy is themselves. Mistakes and not playing their A-game at all times. If they don't beat themselves, there isn't a roster out there that truly matches up.

Everyone focus' upon the WRs to judge this air attack. But IMO the Ram RBs are completely underrated. McVay simply hasn't emphasized their receiving talent. Aker, Henderson, and Funk are all good receivers. I saw firsthand how a good receiving RB can impact the game if that part of the passing game was emphasized by the OC. I watched Tomlinson and Rivers just tear up defenses and that roster wasn't nearly what this Rams roster is. It was QB Rivers, RB Tomlinson, WR Vicent Jackson, and TE Antonio Gates. Those 4 were the offense. Right now Stafford has Kupp, Woods, Higbee, Jackson, Jefferson, Akers, and Henderson. Some of the reserves on the Rams right now could probably be starters on other teams.

Can we start the season already?

The best OC Stafford has had in his career was Scott Fucking Linehan. Let that sink in.

"the differences in open percentage between kenny golladay + marvin jones and robert woods + cooper kupp. you just have to wonder if it'll feel weird for stafford to be throwing to open receivers this year"

And this is the part that Idiot bobbleheads don't get.

All of these guys creating these stats deserve all the credit they get, But a HUGE part of
these stats come from a boy genius they call McVay.
Scheming WR's open is how he rolls!!!

The QB can influence the coverage with his eyes and hitting a receiver in stride definitely affects YAC. I'd say a QB affects YAC quite a bit.

They can impact it. But in last year's case we know that the Rams were near the bottom of the league in air yards, so most of the YAC was coming from screens and short passes, which isn't really something I'd give a ton of credit to the QB for. Also, just because the WRs have a lot of YAC doesn't mean the QB was hitting them in stride.

Same for coverage - QB can affect it, but just because WRs were open doesn't mean the QB was manipulating the coverage well.

I don't think anybody would argue that there's a permanent, consistent, and direct causation effect they can be determined backward like that. However it's also incorrect for someone to say that a QB has next to nothing to do with being open or getting YAC.

Was he the blond haired or the brown haired dude in Dukes of Hazard?
I had to Google it, but he's the brown haired one apparently.

EDIT. Wow that's bad quality. Let me find another one.

EDIT2. That should be better.
