First I heard of this.

And considering the history of all viruses, high unlikely.

Within the past week it appears that there has not been one valid instance where someone has had it twice. Again, highly unlikely how viruses work with our immunity systems.

Sorry to add to the thread creep.
A quick Google search of "covid 19 reinfection" showed at least 2-3 articles of people will were reinfected. Only one of them had I read before. I guess it depends on how much you trust articles on the internet.

I just did the same and easily found several articles that say there have not been also.

I try and involve the information on the internet, information received by personally known peeps in my vast circle not looking for "clicks", remove any confirmation bias and use some common sense. My common sense tells me it is far more likely that this virus behaves like all the others we have encountered. Synthetic or not. None of us would be alive otherwise.

I just want the truth. Not what my hopes or fears may be. It is all I have.

Well there's absolutely no way for us to ever know being that 30% are asymptomatic

It would be next to impossible to definitively say there haven't been any. I haven't taken a test for it, but to they ask if you've had it before when they test or otherwise take any personal information in an effort to track who is being infected so they can monitor for reinfection? I don't know.

What I do know is that if a reporter says there's never been anyone who's been infected twice, then a doctor says he's trying 2 patients that are infected for the second time, it is the doctors information (assuming they can prove it but that would be a HIPAA violation I think) that wins out.

Right, if you know the doctor but I'm seeing a lot of conflicting reports from...... doctors.

Just found this report of a 2nd infection. I remember that early on there was a claim that a group got reinfected but, it was determined that they never fully recovered. Sometimes you get false negatives. This is something to watch. Thee is a video in the link worth watching as a doctor talks about how people respond to the infection.

Southern California woman tests positive for COVID-19 for 2nd time after initial recovery
POSTED 9:39 PM, JULY 19, 2020, BY FOX TELEVISION STATIONS
LOS ANGELES — A Los Angeles woman is sharing her story to bring awareness to the seriousness of the COVID-19 pandemic after she tested positive for the virus for the second time despite doing “everything right.”
Health officials have reported an increased number of people who tested positive for COVID-19, recovered, and then testing positive for a second time.
Mary, who did not want to disclose her last name, is coming forward with her story.
She initially tested positive for the virus in April. She recalls not feeling well and having a sore throat. She was then informed by a relative that she may have been exposed to the virus.
Shortly after, she got tested with a positive result. Mary self-quarantined and followed all the proper steps for two weeks.
When she retested in May, the results came up negative.
Then, her health took a turn for the worse at the end of June.
The Southern California woman said she started feeling really sick and ended up being taken to a hospital by ambulance to the emergency room at a local hospital because she had difficulty breathing.
While at the hospital, she tested positive for the virus for the second time.
She was hospitalized for two weeks and underwent enhanced treatment because of her severe symptoms.
She said she is sharing her story to remind others how serious the virus is.
“People don’t believe me that I got it twice. But I have the one from the hospital and the one from April 15,” she said showing her paperwork.
“I was following the orders since the beginning of March…wearing a mask, I was doing the gloves, the hand sanitizer. I was doing everything right…what did I do wrong?” she asked, holding back tears.
She was discharged from the hospital last week. She said she has so much to live for and does not want to end up in the hospital again.
She continues to have symptoms and is taking vitamins and other medications for treatment.
Mary said she wants others to stay protected and to follow guidelines set by health officials.

Another good link with article and video about how the virus works and getting reinfected.
