I’m in the minority on this one, but I hope the iggles lose to the Seahawks.

If that happens, Rams control their own destiny to earn a first-round bye.

If Seahawks lose, we have an extra cushion for winning the Division and locking up the #3 seed. But if Iggles lose, we have a greater chance for a #1 or #2 seed and a serious run at the Lombardi.

I looked up some numbers based on seeding, and:

#1or #2 seed has won the SB 28 times.
#3 or #4 seed has won the SB 6 times.
#5 or #6 seed has won the SB 3 times.

My point is, I’d rather go “all-in” and hope we can steal the #1 or #2 seed from the Iggles, as opposed to hoping we can clinch the #3 seed from the Hawks.

Lastly— even if Hawks beat the Eagles, the Rams still control their own fate in the division.

Hawks; Hawks Hawks! I want the Hawks to kick the crap out of 'em and soften them up for the Rams. So, I am thinking like you XXXIVwin.

If the Eagles get rolled by the Hawks, then get knocked for a second consecutive loss...guess what? They're 10-3 and Rams are 10-3; and Rams jump ahead of them in the seedings.

So, screw the division. Who were the division winners last year? Everyone remembers the Super Bowl winner though. Rams need to take care of business and win the division themselves. I'm for winning the Super Bowl, not the division. A Hawks win puts the Rams in contention for the #1 or #2 Seed. Let's go get it! Look at the stats above. Almost 50% chance to get in the Super Bowl if seeded #1 or #2.

Go Hawks!!! Die Eagles Die!!!1

Eagles already have a fast track to the home field advantage. Hawks need to lose so we don't have to win in Seattle against them and their caffeine snorting fans.

HEY, WHAT'S WRONG WITH SNORTING CAFFEINE???

That helps the Seahawks more than it does the Rams. They're only a half step behind us in the division race.

#1or #2 seed has won the SB 28 times.
#3 or #4 seed has won the SB 6 times.
#5 or #6 seed has won the SB 3 times.

Pats, Steelers, Broncos influencing those numbers, I'm sure.

NOT even close. Do not ever give life to the Seahawks. Put the pillow over their face and flatline their ass!

Two things happen if Seattle wins:
  1. You awaken the sleeping giant. (Granted horribly overrated but still) imagine the national buzz!! No thanks.
  2. You piss off the Iggles, who come to town pissed off and focused. I think the Rams beat them anyway. But better a cocky, complacent victim.
We don’t need Seattle to help us. Philly or Minn. may stumble again down the stretch. The Rams still have a good shot at #1 or # 2.

Exactly. If the Rams keep winning and Seattle keeps losing, then (head-to-head) tie breakers are irrelevant.

No brainer.

Believe me, I see the appeal in crushing the Seahawks’ hopes. Agree with both your points.

OTOH, I am concerned about the Rams chances at getting the #1 or #2 seed. We are essentially 2 games behind both Minn and Philly with 5 games to go. Remaining skeds:
Philly: hawks, Rams, Gints, Raiders, cowboys.
Vikes: falcons, panthers, bengals, packers, bears.
Rams: cards, iggles, hawks, titans, niners.
From my perspective, the Rams’ remaining schedule is harder than the schedule of either Minn or Phil. So, gonna be real hard to make up 2 games on either team with only 5 games left.

Wish both iggles and hawks could lose next week....

First and foremost - we MUST win our division, so two things need to happen this weekend.

1. We have to beat the Cardinals. A win will definitely put us in the driving seat and the division will be ours to lose.

2. I want the Eagles to beat the Hawks (That would make them 7-5 and us a 9-4 team, now that's sweet.) I really don't want to see the Hawks win, piss of the Eagles players then they come out all guns blazing against us the following week. I'm happy for the eagles to be roughed up a little though ;)

Our remaining schedule is a tough one.

The Vikings will lose to the falcons this week. The falcons have their mojo back and the Vikings are due for a loss. Arod should be back for the return match against the packers. Case keenum can't keep playing well.

The rams just need to keep winning and it will all work itself out.

Seashits loss for me. I want a two game lead! And I want the Rams to be the ones that kick the Eagles in the mouth. To expand this, there are two other huge games this weekend that paint a broad stroke on the playoffs, Vikings at Falcons, and Panthers at Saints. Who do we want to win those two? I lean towards the Falcons and Saints so we can gain on that 1st round bye.

Eagles, in a hard fought physical game that wears down both teams.

If Seattle wins then the pressure is really on the Rams to beat them too. The standings are too close.

This thread is rhetorical, correct? Well, just in case I always want the Seahawks to lose, but again, that's just me.

I've thought about this one back and forth for a few days and realize that we are in a win-win situation. I'm in the minority here but I think I'd like to see the Seahawks win this in a brutal overtime game. That way, the Eagles come in next week tired, humbled and vulnerable. I really think we have a chance to run the table with the Saints victory behind us. Furthermore, I think we have a legit shot at the #1 seed which I think is huge — maybe not so much in the home field advantage we'd gain but the fact that we are not playing in Philly or Minnesota.

Right now we are the third seed, two games behind Philly and one behind Minnesota. Here's how I can see the rest of the season playing out, all assuming the Rams win out through the rest of the season. 1) Philly loses to Seattle and the Rams, giving us the tie-breaker over them. 2) Minnesota loses two of these three tough road games: Atlanta, Carolina or the Packers (probably with Rodgers back in a vengeance game). As one of the posters pointed out earlier, Philly really hasn't been tested. I think this week on the road vs Seattle will be a good game to see where they really stand. As for the Rams vs Seattle in a few weeks, we were an inch away from beating them on Kupp's near-catch at the end of the first game. This was after having five turnovers and the Gurley TD being taken away on that first drive. Now they are without two of their stud secondary players. If Wade puts a spy on Russell, this could get ugly. The Seahawks still go to Jacksonville and Dallas, two teams that are capable (well, who knows which Dallas team will show up?) of beating them. I think the Saints game was huge and I see McVay as the kind of coach who isn't going to let his team overlook anyone (like the Cardinals). I like our chances.

I'd rather the Eagles win.

We NEED to win the division. If we can win this week to go to 9-3, and Seahawks lose and go to 7-5.. that's big. The Seahawks losing games is our best shot at securing a playoff spot. I'm not worrying about seeding right now.

Plus, Eagles will come in hot, and we can bring them back to Earth. If SEA beats them, the fire will be lit to come beat us.

Can you guys imagine the media storm if we win this week the Eagles lose to the Seahawks. We beat the Eagles in our head to head match up!?

That game in Seattle just becomes huge and center of the Football world.

There would be a sports media storm with us at the center of it for 2-3 weeks!

I’m rooting for an Eagles loss, and then we whoop the Seahawks to clinch the division and become the 2 seed!

I know a Seahawks loss helps us more but f it. Let’s go for the jack pot and a nfc title gane full of revenge in Minnesota! Can’t write it any better than that!
