Ok, so this is a much richer and deeper position than Center. I had a lot of fun putting together the QUARTERBACKS list.

So much so, that I decided to make 3 lists.
  1. Best. Again, the criteria: greatness, longevity and contributions to the Rams, and contributions to team success.
  2. Biggest busts. The criteria: draft pick or original free agent with the Rams. (Hint: Nick Foles, A. J. Feely, Shaun Hill, and Brady Quinn sadly not eligible) Most of these guys had a cup of coffee with the Rams but clearly had no talent. Some had funny names though. :D
  3. The "He Played for the Rams?" List. Made up of guys that spend their glory years with other teams then spent a year or two with the Rams before being sent to a Home somewhere. Fun list. (y)

Has to be Jeff Smoker. That 2004 quarterback with so many off-the-field issues, right? What a bum.

Namath. Haha. Another guy I forgot to list-John Hadl- was kind of a tweeter to make list #1 and 3.

Stopped reading when you had 1 of the Rams HOF QB's at #8 The guy who won a championship. And on the bad side you left out the 7th pick in the 64 draft...

Tony Banks was the worst QB I've ever actually seen play in the NFL, and a numb skull to boot!

Chris Miller was a really good QB that got Bulgerized completely out of football by our terrible front office refusing to filed an Oline.

Warner is the best Qb I've ever seen!

Love the feedback. I certainly am not the be all/end all. Especially with some of the older guys.

But seriously, Warner just a hair above Shack?:rolllaugh:

But I DID include him in the top 10, right?

Sorry, I don't have much reference for some of the older guys, except stats, and what I have heard. He must have been something, huh? I know gaudy passing stats did not define QBs back then. Thanks for the input Yamahopper!

Banks was so GD frustrating, because he had a ton of physical ability, and could throw a beautiful deep ball. I remember one he threw to Ike for an 80 yard TD, it was a very long pass and Ike didn't even have to break stride. But man, he would throw some absolute stinkers too.

He was how Crash Davis described Nuke LaLoosh in Bull Durham - a million dollar arm and a ten cent head.

Coach Vermeil, (welling up with tears): "We will rally behind Jeff Smoker and we will play good football."

Something tells me Vermeil would have never had NFL Network film him for "A Football Life" if this is how it went down.

Yeah and look at all those Super Bowls Everett took us to!(n)

He sure had some great years, but I was at the "self-sack" '89 championship game against the hated Niners. In full Rams gear. It still hurts. I know he owns passing records, but if we want to go by that strictly, Van Brocklin and Waterfield wouldn't even show up.

Kurt was #1, despite the lack of longevity.

I think your right, though. I should have had Hadl mentioned on that list. He was the first quarterback I remembered. He had a couple of good years, though brief. Throwing to my first favorite players- Harold Jackson and Jack Snow!
