As far as Sam Bradford....don't agree. If Glennon is worth $15 million...Sam is worth at least that.

Please don't tell me you think Glennon is worth that! Maybe he should be taking snaps dropping back with GRob blocking his blind side so he has a few seconds to throw to B Quick :D

Nice post.
If Smart can just be Donald-Lite in the NFL, everything about AD's holdout will get a whole lot more interesting...

You just know that if the Rams feel really good about Smart, Les Snead has already began dreaming up some kind of super-mega-Jay Glazer reporting in his underwear- blockbuster trade....

Smart playing really well in AD's place would really help the Rams side in negotiations. AD misses another game or 2 and Smart keeps playing better, Rams just might think completely different. Maybe they start thinking "trade". Getting some high draft picks without missing AD might be very attractive.

If Smart fills in well, I would welcome Rams trading AD

Steelers sign DE Stephon Tuitt to 5-year, $60M extension

One day before the start of the final year of his rookie deal, Stephon Tuitt has secured his future in Pittsburgh.

The Steelers announced Saturday that the fourth-year defensive end signed a five-year extension with the organization through 2022. NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported the new deal is worth $61 million over six years and is heavy on up-front money.

Tuitt was slated to make just over $1 million in base salary this season. Now he'll likely reel in roughly $15 million, per Rapoport, and is more than happy to stay in Pittsburgh for the foreseeable future.

A 2014 second-round pick out of Notre Dame, Tuitt has already established as one of Pittsburgh's most indispensable defenders. Through three seasons in the Steel City, the lineman has tallied 109 combined tackles, 11.5 sacks and three forced fumbles.

Aaron Donald ends holdout, rejoins Rams
The Rams get their best defensive player back just in time for the regular season.

Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald has officially ended his holdout and reported to the team one day before the team will open the season against the Indianapolis Colts, according to Pro Football Talk.

The late arrival means that Donald will not be on the field when the Rams begin the season Sunday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The holdout for Donald ends without a contract, which means it could be tough for the Rams to keep the defensive tackle when his rookie deal expires.

With his fast rise and status as the Rams’ best defensive player, Donald was severely underpaid heading into the season, with two years left on his rookie contract. Currently, he’s scheduled to make just $1.802 million, a bargain for the Rams but a pittance for a player of Donald’s caliber.

He started his holdout at the beginning of camp, with reports suggesting that Donald was ready to miss regular-season games. That was always a long shot, given that it’s an extreme negotiating tactic, but his late arrival to the Rams means it’s unlikely he plays Sunday.

Donald has been an instant star from the moment the Rams selected him with the 13th overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft. Through three seasons, he has 28 sacks and four forced fumbles, emerging as one of the league’s best interior pass rushers.

It might be a bit of a transition for Donald, who missed a month of practice and is moving to defensive coordinator Wade Phillips’ preferred 3-4 scheme. Still, he has the talent to seamlessly ease into the system and continue being one of the most disruptive defensive linemen in football.
