Seems like I remember a scene where the crowd goes back and forth between Robin Hood and Loxsley doing an archery duel or something?
I think that might be it. lol.

I just find it funny when people feel sorry for the ego's of football players... I lived with 3 of them that were division one starters for two years in college. One played in the NFL.

Great guys... but they are worshipped in a way that is irrational.

Trust me when I say they don't need our empathy... because someone thinks they "suck".

I wouldn't chant "We want Goff" but I'm not going to tell someone how to be a fan either.
I didn't say I felt sorry for him. For his wife, maybe.
I simply said it was a shitty thing to do and it was embarrassing.

I totally get the reasoning behind it. The Rams spent all that draft capital and money to go up and draft a guy #1 overall, so they wanna see him play. They also don't think he can POSSIBLY do worse than Keenum, so that just exacerbates the situation and makes them even more antsy. So they chant in unison in the hopes that Fisher will turn around and go, "Derr, okay. You guys win. <groan>". It won't work, and I seriously doubt Kroenke is swayed by it either. Fisher will stick to his plan and play Goff when he feels like he's 100% ready to go, and that's that. We can all argue and comment ad nauseum that we know for sure he's ready, but that doesn't matter either. Fisher's gon Fish.

On a side note -- totally crappy thing to do, and it was embarrassing. Maybe others don't think so, but that doesn't change my opinion. And if you're okay with it, then you'll be okay with chants for Mannion if Goff puts together 7 meh games and the Rams lose 60% of them.

LOL... Most Rams fans and 60% of Rams coaches don't even know Mannion's on the team...

case had to know it was coming. the offense has been terrible almost every game this season. he was playing poorly. they have the #1 pick future franchise qb sitting on the bench. the fans want to express their dissatisfaction with fisher, a coach who is leading the team to 5 straight losing seasons. something had to give.

These athletes deserve every penny to put up with the all the numbnuts in the stands. Could you imagine messing up some numbers on a spreadsheet in your accountant position and then you go into work the day and they have hung a banner across your desk that says "Brian Sucks!!!" in big ass spray painted letters? Your co-workers chanting in the lunch room for the office manager to take over your job "we want Gladys, we want Gladys"? Being booed and jeered by the fucking janitor who doesn't understand the first thing about accounting but is some sort of armchair controller? Fuck that - athletes should make even more than they do to put with all that fucktarded bullshit.

I will say the first thing I thought of when I heard the Goff chant was Keenum's wife sitting there having to listen to a whole stadium wish ill will on her husband. That's got to be rough. Keenum's got a good woman to go home to at least.

And the movie you may be thinking of is Robin Hood Men in Tights? Seems like I remember a scene where the crowd goes back and forth between Robin Hood and Loxsley doing an archery duel or something?

Yeah that would be rough on her.. no doubt. But at least he is getting an awesome opportunity.. but I see your point.

I love the spirit of your thinking here... its in the name of goodness and being a nice person.

But.... massive amounts of pussy, money and being worshipped by everyone of all ages like you are a greek god is plenty of good trade off.

Not a fan of them chanting that but I get the frustration and why they're doing it. Each to their own I guess.

Honestly I tend to agree with Chris Carter. He has some very valid points. We might have blundered this pick and the proof is possibly already rearing it's ugly head. It's a bit early to pass 100% judgement but there are signs that Goff might have been a blunder. You don't trade 6 premium picks without starting a guy you traded for after 8 weeks in the season and all the excuses Fisher used to not start Goff earlier in the season prove now not to be valid.

It's either one or the other either: Goff is a bust or Fisher is stubbornly/selfishly hurting Goff's future trying to secure a future for himself and his coaching staff.

It's one or the other.

I barely had enough energy to start the thread but I thought it was worth posting. You know the drill Corbin... 3 hrs of depression sleep mixed in with a whisky headache finished off by one grueling 8 hr Monday work shift.

I can respect the skepticism of former players even if their takes are based on their past locker room/practice field experiences. He's not close to the situation so his take even if he really believes it, was kind of drama driven by the what have you done so bad in practices that you're still backing up a career backup NFL QB.

I was not offended because we have heard his spin so many times already over the last 2 months. I do think Carter was possibly exaggerating a little bit extra for sports media drama being a guest on the show.

The colossal blunder for the franchise comment was a typical sports media driven cliche. Goff can come in and look like crap the last 5 games of this season and yet look like a natural star in 2017..

The Tip of the Iceberg for Goff's Fate hasn't even been touched yet. Any knowledgeable football fan with common sense knows that cant even happen until 2017 and 2018 are officially in the books.

Lets not act like this is week 1 and the chants started. We're going into week 10. We're told Case gives us the best chance at winning games but he's sitting there with a 77 passer rating while the number 1 overall pick sits on the bench.

ALOT of people commenting in that panther thread that the panthers "need to man up, stop being a pussy, ect, ect" but chanting for Goff is going to far, you've crossed the line. lol.

Sorry for your feelings,

They all know the deal.
I don't ever remember booing anyone.
I do remember sitting down in the dugout near a famous pitcher who was on a bad stretch after a big, big contract. He heard it , on the road especially. A big name starter in the pen.
Guess what? He didn't care what any fan thought.
He knew no one bitching at him could remotely do what he could do. He was in the top 1 percent and knew it. F them was the general thought. And rightfully so.

Yeah. I thinking of his wife who was in the stands too.
She always had that super proud look on her face, and she had to listen to those asshats.
Oh well. He's a big boy, and he apparently shook it off. Or so he said.

Was sitting close to her yesterday. You're right pretty embarrassing performance by Rams fans, especially when they're trying to run a play. A true Rams fan would not be doing that during play. Afterwards sure, if you don't like. Talked to Case afterwards and you don't know how bad he wants to win and some things he'd like to do are not happening at the moment.

And most fans worth their salt know this just as they know plenty of what is going on is not his to own.

Wat.

We were talking about Panthers fans who thought the Rams cheap-shot their QB a couple of times, and they were being pussies about it. I didn't use quite the same descriptor for Rams fans who were also being douchey, but I can if you'd like it to be a clean comparison.
