There is NO WAY, a guy shot in the head, goes through brain surgery, is gonna be cleared to play tackle football again.
If concussions are caused by head trauma...and he was shot twice...then had, what 4 hours of surgery, then he's probably had the equivalent of 4 or five concussions. And is more likely to suffer another one when he gets hit...

I'm not a Doctor, but a concussion is different than a gunshot wound to the head. The question was how much brain tissue was injured by the bullets. It would be localized and a small area. A concussion is cause by the brain sliding in the skull and being pressed up against it due to inertia. It usually involves a large area of the brain.

Both are bad for a contact sport. I'd have to trust the doctors on this one. If he's cleared by multiple doctors and the potential for further injury is minimal than let him play, but if he is going to be prone to further damage or concussions, then no way.

I thought Sted was gonna be our Golden Taint. His game always reminded me of Taint.

I would be surprised if Doctors decide to clear him now when they wouldn't before.

Yeah, I have had zero expectations of him ever playing again. Especially in this day and age of concussion controversy. Any Dr. that cleared him would be under a fine microscope and heat the first time he got a concussion. And god forbid something more serious happened whether caused by the past injury or not they would be destroyed by the media. I just don't see any doctor willing to give him another chance with their name attached to the approval.

But hope I'm wrong, I don't know the specifics of his injury so might not be as big a deal. He definitely was a quality player for us.

What you all say above is true about the trauma to the head which might halt his nfl career on the field, but he had a good football IQ and could possibly be an assistant WR coach?...

If I was writing a dictionary, the word "perseverance" would have a picture of Stedman Bailey right next to it. I admire him not giving up on his dream.

I'd love to have him as an assistant WR coach.

Honestly, if there was ZERO chance he'd get cleared, he would know it.

My guess is doctors have told him there's a small chance.

His attitude is praiseworthy and yes this team needs that type of attitude. I hope to see more of Sted B.

More or less.

For his own quality of life, I don't want to see him back. It's not worth it.

If he makes it back, I hope he does well. He had the best hands on the team and a really good route runner.

I've said it before..I really think he will be back.

His drive and determination is out of this world and would love to see him fulfill his dream, if he is cleared medically

Drills are fine. I LOVE his persistence and determination.

If he wants to really light up the vids, he needs to put up a video where he's running at minimum a 4.5 40, preferably closer to his combine speed, but 4.5 would show that he's got NFL speed.

Cuz even with all the drills, when you watch his former NFL plays, he had the speed and quickness on the field to complement his hands.

I would LOVE for him to get a chance. I would LOVE for him to get back and succeed and not let some random street punk rob him of his lifelong dream.

And IF he ever gets back.... KEEP HIS BUTT OUT OF MIAMI. If the Rams play in Miami? Make him stay in the hotel or at the stadium. That's it.

As long as Sted and his doctors conduct extensive due diligence over his cranial issues, and, if he is consequently cleared, it would be great to have him aboard the U.S.S. Horns. Jared can use all the help he can get, and Sted gets enough separation that an accurate QB like Jared should be able to find him repeatedly. If he is cleared, perhaps the Horns should investigate the feasibility having a special helmet designed to further lessen the effects of cranial shots.

Good for him, I hope he makes it on another team. We need to move on and need new blood at the WR position.

I like Sted but that hashtag (#TheRe12urn) is terrible. It makes no sense.

Having said that, I wish him all the success in the world cus he deserves it. Hopefully one day he will re12urn as long as it doesn't compromise his health (any more than playing in the NFL normally does).

gotta admire his guts and determination ....but man i think its sketchy if they let return ...dude got SHOT in the HEAD ...TWICE ..one big pop from a linebacker going over the middle and your looking at a world of trouble

i hope he makes it ...but not at the expense of his health .... im not even sure a doc will clear him ...imagine the law suits that WOULD be filed if something went wrong
