I would love for Britt to hopscotch his OTA performance to preseason, to regular season, and on thru the playoffs. But I've been burned one too many times by outstanding OTA performances to have my hopes dashed by a dude who has been arrested as many times as a cat has lives.
Well I can tell you from playing ball that until you put on the pads anything without them means nothing. lol

Mix and match depending on the opponent and state of the game. It's all about packages. This is how the NFL rolls.

My opinion is:
X - Quick or Britt or Givens
Z - Austin
SL - Pettis
Y - Cook

The X is a tough one to call. No idea what Quick or Britt will offer. And no idea if Givens has his head on straight.

So obviously I won't list Mr. Bailey with his dumb suspension but outside of him who seems most likely to start for us t create mismatch problems?

We are playing the Vikings, Bucs, and Cowturds and then have a Bye week then Eagles. I'm thinking with our matches against the opposing personal we'll see this as our WR depth chart on game day.

WR1 Britt
WR2 Quick
Slot1 Austin
Slot 2 Givens/ Pettis

OFC you have to account for Cook to line up in slot or motion or whatever so that will probably limit Givens and Pettis. To me, this seems like the most likely line up as of right now. We shall see when the pads get thrown on though.... you have similar or a bit different view of our WR group?

Honestly I think this is the position group likely to take us over the top or only let us be mediocre and hold us back this year.

AND FOR GOD SAKES NO MORE F'N DROPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

p.s. Happy Independence Day guys!

There is no need for me to post on this thread... Rammer has it all Just like Bogie and Bacall!

WR1 - Brian Quick
WR2 - Chris Givens unfortunately...After what I saw last year, I'll be extremely disappointed if he wins out. He was bad last year. A pass to him was damn near a guaranteed incompletion. I'm hoping its Britt....
Slot - TJ Moe
WR/TB/Gadget - Tavon Austin
Backups
WR4 - Britt
WR6 - Pettis

Well said on Britt. While I can see why his OTA performance has people excited (andit would make Fisher look like a genius for saying WR wasn't a problem), OTAs are not what counts, and there are reasons we got him on a "Prove It" contract.

He wouldn't be the first guy to shine at OTAs then tank.... but I will happily eat all the crow in the world if he proves me wrong.

You and Memento are both correct but I also list Britt as a starter for no other reason with all of his troubles he is still the most talented player for the X or outside however you want to label it.

He had his best years with Fisher and Fisher has so far proved he can handle some of these high risk players.

Britt should not be a lock to make this team by any means. He has to earn it both on and off the field. RamsAndEwe said it best: a guy who had an 11.4% drop rate, injury concerns, and has been in trouble with the law numerous times is not someone an NFL team can reliably count on. If Britt proves me wrong, I'll gladly eat crow - whether it's barbequed, smoked, baked, etc. I just don't see it.

Personally, I see the wide receiver lineup being Quick and Austin on the outside with Givens in the slot on 3-wide sets. Pettis and Moe (potential backup punt returner as well as fifth/sixth option) come on the field for third down situations. Once Bailey returns from his suspension, he'll have to work on special teams before he gets a chance to get on offense.

I agree with you on Britt but I think Britt has done more to earn a spot that Quick has. I like the idea of Quick and Austin outside and Givens in the slot, that being said Givens had most of his success outside his rookie year. I only hope Austin is used everywhere and Shotty finds a way to use him in multiple formation and positions to create match up issues. There were some times mid year Shotty seemed to have him lined up in different formations.

Good call. Very much the way I see it. Pettis snagged 25 of 38 of his 2013 pass catch total and all 4 touchdown catches from Sam Bradford. 16 game projected Austin Pettis/Bradford total- 57 catches and 9 touchdowns.

Solve for X? Can Givens be more than a one trick pony? Go long Givens!
Will Quick run precise patterns, learn the playbook, and catch balls in traffic.?
Can Britt minimize his faux pas's to one public porn film?
How deep did Stedman Bailey bury himself in Fisher's doghouse?

Y can't Cook improve his downfield blocking.

keep hope alive, practice & ota's really do mean something....Peyton & Tom take them seriously...most great players do....Our problem isn't with the standout performers not living up to pre-season hype, it's failure to adjust...NFL won't let the same thing keep working, you gotta make adjustments......
