There have been precious few recently, for me. Especially since McVay came onboard.

But I do have a few, and in no particular order.

The Tavon extension. I’ll let ‘em slide on the tradeup and pick, I guess. But the extension? Geez...

The TruJo taggings. Note the plural? SMH.

Honestly, that’s about it for me in the head scratchers department for the recent past. That’s pretty danged good, huh?

Now, as to possible future headscratchers...

Tagging Watkins would be one for me. Hasn’t earned that much money, IMO. Extend him for up to $9-10 million per, sure. But no tag, please.

Keeping Barron at his present salary would be another headscratcher.

Keeping Quinn is another. Don’t be fooled by the recent flurry of Quinn sacks. He is now a mere shadow of his former dominating self. Poor use of cap dollars.

Gotta trust Demoff and especially Snead and McVay to make the best possible decisions this offseason. Here’s hoping...

I would use the Transition Tag on Watkins. Couldn't hurt.

Love everything about our new coaching staff except the way they use Gurley, ... a few games lost when our top RB's name wasn't being called and where we appeared desperate to throw. Gurley can be used to open up the passing game just as well as the passing can open up Gurley's game. jmo.

Me too.....I have a feeling that after a full off-season with Goff is going to pay huge dividends in Sammy's production. We will regret not signing him to a long term deal in 2018 as compared to after a big season next year.

I would give him a one year, "prove it" contract around 8 mil.

He's said he likes it in LA... so, show me... stick around for a reasonable contract and show me that you are much better than what you showed this year.

You have faith... produce... and your faith will be rewarded.
(remember, he hasn't been the healthiest player in the history of the NFL)

Extending Ogletree's contract. Teach the man to tackle and I'll feel better about it.

I know you are down on Watkins and as well Austin but what they do has value beyond the yards.

If you see stills from all 22 tape Watkins is drawing 2 guys consistently and if he starts up the field he always creates holes in the defense that other guys get into because of the design of the plays. I want to see him with more production, and I think we will see that if he comes back.

On this we agree 100%. If he is willing to redo his deal then that's fine with me but he is not what he once was. He got a couple of freebie sacks against the Seahawks where Wilson essentially ran into him as he was escaping pressure and he got one like that against the Cardinals I think.

He's essentially a 6 or 7 sack LB in a 3-4, and he had a rough year in coverage. He has trouble taking on a TE or RB and for a LB in the 3-4 if you can't cover you are a liability waiting to be exposed on passing downs.

I would like to see him stay on a reduced contract because I think WP can use him in particular instances.

All that said there is very little chance IMO that he just gets cut.

Josh Forrest.... I realize he was obviously damaged, but why not stick him on IR and see what happens... not a big deal though

Still don't like the W Hayes trade.

I'll only like this trade if Fox develops into what Hayes once was. Same size tweener types for the Rams, although Fox is about 8 years younger. I'm more disappointed we didn't try to extend Chris Long at less money. jmo.

Not using Gurley in the Atlanta game . Like passing on 2nd and 2 when Gurley just gutted them for 8 yards .
Still upset about 13 points in prime time in front of a packed house .

Our use of Tavon this year. Lack of passes down the field, lack of screens, run calls up the gut, even the reduction of fake jet sweep runs at the end of the season.

Deep PA pass call after Havenstein was out versus the Eagles, which lead to a strip sack.

Benching of starters for the final game.

Good catch on the Dunbar signing, dieter.

Can’t believe I missed that one.

Not really, If the guy had stayed healthy mebbe he would have shined big time in this offense. One thing is for sure Coach Mac would have schemed him in such a manner that he could show what he can do and, moreover, why the Rams signed him in the first place.
But the old adage remains true: your greatest ability is your availability.
Unfortunately for Mr. Dunbar he could not accomplish this requirement.
