This is the second game in a row an opposing player slipped on the concrete at the ED. Last week it was Josh McCown, this week it's Reggie Bush.

Report: Reggie Bush tore his ACL

A slip on the concrete looks like it will cost 49ers running back Reggie Bush the rest of the 2015 season.

Bush slipped on the concrete between the playing field and the stands at Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis after running out of bounds early in Sunday’s loss to the Rams. Bush left the game at that point and did not return.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Bush is believed to have suffered a torn ACL on the awkward spill. He’ll have an MRI to confirm that diagnosis, but chances are that we won’t see Bush back on a football field this year.

It’s two weeks in a row that the concrete in St. Louis has caused an injury. It’s something that needs to be addressed even if the Rams’ four remaining home games this season are the last ones that they’ll be playing in St. Louis.

Carlos Hyde missed Sunday’s game with a stress fracture in his knee. If the Bush diagnosis is confirmed, the team will likely add a running back or perhaps bring Jarryd Hayne back to the 53-man roster.

I said this during the game...really, why isn't there 5 more feet of astroturf to the wall? There is no way to stop yourself on concrete running with cleats......

Just stop already when you get out of bounds, he wasn't even trying to slow down. Same with McCown last week.

While the article had a little extra salt in it it's an issue that needs to be addressed. You can damn well bet we'd all be losing our minds if that had happened to Tavon or Gurley. Just put down some damn carpeting or something.

NFL teams have insane Scrooge McDuck amounts of money and cant make it a safe surface? Anyone who has ever played football with cleats can tell you its hard to even walk slow on some surfaces. If this happened to Gurley this week or on an opponents field a week after someone else got hurt I don't think the attitudes would be the same....just sayin'. Every stadium should have to meet similar regulations and be safe. Wasn't there something recently about Kroenke being one of the richest guys in the NFL?

You really think ESK is going to invest money in the EJD?

Not now, but it should have been done in the past. Rams players are more prone to be injured from this than opponents

After rewatching it happen after the game. . . it looks like Bush is throwing the ball making an awkward twerk on his knee the second he hit the concrete.

McCown was hurt before he ran into the wall. A few plays earlier barron hit him in his arm pit of his throwing shoulder as he was throwing

Few thoughts on this...

1. There really should be carpet to the walls.

2. Twenty years at the ED, and IDK how many years the NFL has been in domes, and NOW there's a problem with players unable to slow down?

3. There is no way Josh McCown can hit a high enough speed to require that amount of distance to slow down. He didn't really try.

It is a problem and only a matter of time before it bites us. There is no place for concrete or any other slick surface where you have athletes in cleats of any kind. Very silly and irresponsible. We warn our kids to be careful at the field when it is near concrete and I have seen many a kid land on his tailbone or awkwardly when crossing the stuff. For a NFL player to deal with it and have to try and stop fast is a recipe for disaster. For the record the last thing you want to do is try and stop on it while running, it can be very slippery.

JL got the final light push to Josh McCown going into the wall. I cringed just hoping a yellow flag did not fly. Check it out again. I'd bet anything as I saw it in so many replays. I'm sure JL had no idea that would happen. Now after two major injuries the refs are gonna be keying in on it. Just watch.:eek::shocked:

Well, we don't know how they reconfigured the turf. Maybe they used to have turf to the edge but now they don't to make it easier for network cable runs or for the sideline camera dolly...

I dunno, but whatever's different, they need to fix it.

I don't want to see any injuries and certainly not because of the venue. Now excuse for FedEx Field and no excuse for the EJD.

Yeah... how hard would it be for the extra carpet (whatever) be added?

Clearly, he had no idea how slick that concrete was.

Neither did Bush, apparently.

I probably would have done the same thing... just kind of glide into the wall.

This isn't on McCown... or Bush... this is on The Ed.

They need to fix it.

1. Agree that the concrete shouldn't be there.
2. How does the Ed stack up with other stadiums on injuries? Can't recall there being many off of the turf injuries before.
