Why not start him the last game of the year against the 49ers? We can't make the playoffs. Foles and Keenum aren't the answers going forward. The 49ers aren't good, so he will have an easier time of it. Game experience will be helpful in his development. I do not see the downside of giving him one start.

I said this last year when Keenum was sitting on the bench and they continued to start Hill at QB. Well now we know what Keenum has and it make NO sense to start Keenum. He is NOT the QB future of the Rams. Let's see what Mannion can do.

I know they try to win every game they play, but they need to get some guys playing time. I do not see a reason not to start Mannion the last game of the year.

He won the last two games he started in Houston after being with the Rams and now has won 2 of 3 with the Rams that he started. If he plays as well as he did last week during these next two weeks he has put that to rest and should be in the competition for starter in 2016.

What makes you think Keenum is not a viable QB?

2014 3rd round pick.

He beat me straight up

Play the man his draft slot.

(However Case is playing well considering, tough coach's decision.)

He was sitting on bench behind Nick Foles. That should answer this question right?

One report on here claimed that a scout said Keenum was. The best QB in camp but because of what they gave up for Foles, he was the guy no matter what. It isn't to hard to see that Keenum is better than Foles. His passes are more accurate and are more catchable, he can read the defenses and change the plays, and he moves better in the pocket.

Matt Flynn was sent packing by hawks once they found Russell Wilson was better QB though they were invested in Flynn. If what you said is tru about Keenum in camp, doesn't this tell 2 thing about this Rams staff?

1. Even when they have a better QB in house they were incompetent enough to see it.

2. If Rams believed Keenum was better and they held him back, it speaks about the degree of disregard Fisher has to winning and lack of urgency to win.

What I see is this: Keenum is an experienced version of Austin Davis. No better. We will find out soon enough. Remember the spark Blaine Gabbert was providing 9ers two weeks ago? Yup.

When I watch Mannion, I see a decently accurate QB who needs TIME in the pocket more than anything. He is the quintessential pocket passer in my eyes. I doubt he would be effective at all behind this OL. I don't care how many hits he can take without breaking in half.

Also, if you want to see impressive college highlights.... Post Keenums. No comparison there.

You could be correct and it may only be a matter of time until NFL DCs catch up to him. But remember he was the most prolific passer in NCAA history. I'll wait for it to happen.

Answering #1 & 2. I think they saw it. I also think they saw something in Keenum to make them trade Houston to get him back. Thing is Keenum never threw 25 Tds and only had 2 Ints in a season. I am guessing that Fisher and staff felt, that despite Keenum looking better in camp, that 'that' Nick Foles would show up and take over. They did afterall hire two QB coaches, essentially. It seemed that they thought they could get him back to where he was. Keenum had no such past success so they didn't have faith in what they were seeing.

Should they have? I don't know. It sounds like they knew what they were seeing but were just so desperate to have the old Foles show up and were willing to give him the time to do it.

Nobody here is accusing Fisher of having an eye for offense though.

Although I doubt in any of Keenum's highlights you will hear a commentator say... "Keenum stands tall in the pocket."

How does that answer the question ??? Tom Brady sat behind Drew Bledsoe...And before somebody goes off on me, no, I'm not comparing the two, only the situation...

Brady was a rookie. Keenum been in the league longer than Foles than I believe.
