What possible tampering could there be? It was common knowledge he asked to be traded and that the Fords agreed. McVay did a deep dive into the film. They meet in Cabo, and seal the deal.

The only thing in question is that did Stafford change his plans and go to Cabo to get this done, or was it really the weather? Who cares? Not only was it OK to work out a deal at that time, THEY ACTUALLY INKED IT. So clearly, it was OK with the NFL.

Okay.......

I am quoting my own post because the curious change that was made. I wrote "Shawn Payton" not "Asshole face".

Although I do find that funny, I also find it strange.

Is there an explanation to how that changed?

Edit: Figured out can't write the name without the change to Asshole Face.

The original concern (which is putting it strongly) was this quote from the NFL:

“Under no circumstances should a new club rely upon any written or oral representation by a player or his agent that he has received permission to enter into discussions for a trade for contract,” the memo states. “Nor should a new club rely upon a letter from the employer club to the agent or player granting such permission since employer clubs typically reserve the right to withdraw permission at any time, and may have already done so. Permission must be received directly from the employer club.”

So essentially I guess there needed to be a formal letter from the Lions to the Rams. For all we know it happened and that is why the issue died as quickly as it appeared.

Yeah, Holmes might have allowed Stafford that right to talk to another team as well. No harm,no foul.
Jared Goff was probably the most surprised & the fact Whitworth was apart of basic talks & excited tells a far he had fallen out of support if you want to get into it deeper.
Snead & Mcvay both didn’t right him in as the starter for 2021.Funny how Aaron Rogers became available a little after that as well.
Imo the 9ers panicked & traded for the #3 pick way to soon.
