Everything is O-line. People wonder how Pro Bowl Backs can go to nothing back to Pro Bowl. Its called O-line.

O-lines have made hall of fame RB's. Crappy Olines have sunk great RB's.

Saffold is for sure Pro Bowl level this year.

Looks like a simple play.
But, the ability and athlerism of that play, for a guy northmkd 300 lbs, to start get out and nail his block, start to get tripped up, regain it and nail his second.....wow. Saffold has always been an amazing athlete. He managed to take tbe feet, the quickness and balance that allowed him to play LT and moved it inside.
I've been wrong (defending and demanding patience for Quick for example) on this board plenty. But, myself and few others sternly defending Saffold and his new contract through all those injuries. It was clear he was the Rams best lineman for years. And at times a special player. If you have some who can play at that level you do your best to keep him. Happy for Roger this year.

I would strongly suggest that the Ram Org. before the Free Agency begins is get Saffold a 3 yr extension contract done before 2019.If you want Goff to be successful then keep Rodger Saffold in front of him on that Left side. We got a dose of Darrell Williams protecting Goff this last Sunday....Saffold is our emergency plan if old man Whitworth goes down!

I strongly suggest spending our cap money on smart excellent veteran OL'ers & mainly using the draft for young defensive standouts where quick returns normally come from.

Not a bad idea Boni but then again... Consider our impending FAs and the areas on this team where they need to improve. This offseason is going to be insane for Les and the staff.

I'd make Roger play out his contract and if he sustains offer him a fair market value down the stretch in 2018.

Saw that in a replay during game.
The man is a Beast and a hell of a open field blocker.

So do as the Bengals did with Andrew Whitworth back in 2016? Yep that worked out good for them....;)

As great as Saffold's two blocks were - and they were great - there was some pretty fine blocking going on all over the field on that play. Along with Saffold, Whitworth put a nice swim move (intentional or not, I don't care) to get outside position on the defensive end, Brown got to the second level to absolutely destroy a linebacker, Havenstein came across the field to stop any backside chasers, and there was Watkins way down field fighting off a cornerback to give Gurley another 20+yards. Just a well executed play by all.

* A note on Watkins; yeah, you don't want your #1, or even #2 receiver being praised primarily for his blocking ability - that's sort of like saying "but she has a good personality" - but nonetheless this isn't the first time I've noticed Watkins fighting hard on his blocks. He also seems genuinely happy when somebody else scores. I believe that falls into the "little things" that Goff and Mcvay were talking about.
