I have to say man you are doing great. Keep it up and you are definitely going to meet your goal time. In fact I bet you beat it.

I think that the TM really help me loosen my ankle up. I am going to run a 3 miler today to see how it goes. I know that I am not going to set any records on Sunday but I am just going to take it slow and really try and enjoy the run which I haven't always done.
How'd it go?

It went great. I ran the 5K with my wife on Saturday. This was her first 5K and she did awesome. Finished it in 40:23 and I was really proud of her. I ran the 1/2 the next day with a buddy that had been injured so we took nice and slow finished in 2:19. It may have been the most enjoyable 1/2 I have done and best of all I was able to walk the next day.

Thats awesome man. I feel bad for folks who run every race for a PR. Sure its good to gear up and train to do your best, but it cant be all the time. That's good on ya to be the support guy for someone else.

Congrats Rhody. I know you trained hard and I happy to see you came through like a champ. Sucks about your buddy but I hope you got through it with no injuries.

finally got the chance to "analyze" my run today. My slowest miles were 2-6 when I was running into a stiff 12 MPH wind. Then about mile 11 I hit the wall after trying to make up some time and ended up losing time the last few miles. I should have stayed with the pace group I started the race with (2:05) because on the home stretch I was running with the 2:15 pace group who were ahead of their goal time.

Live and learn I guess.

You got that right. You did great and man, you've come a long way in what? 6-7 months?

Remember this guy??
have only run outside 1 time so far, and it was cold and windy and too many puddles LOL.
Started running a few weeks ago on the Wii Fit Plus...basically running in place for awhile while your character runs around on the tv screen. Distance on that thing is way off from real life, because I was able to do a little over 4 miles in 20 minutes with the Wii. Then I moved up to a rickety old tread mill that has been in our basement for about 5-7 years. No distance tracker or anything, I would just set my timer for 20 minutes and go. Yesterday the temp hit above freezing here for the first time since I started running, so I went to the local park, which used to be an old Naval air strip during WWII. so it is nice and flat, and also where my first 5k will be run at the end of March..if I make it until then LOL
Yesterday ran 2.01 miles in 22:42 ...a little slow but I will get there

You did great, now you've got a 1/2 marathon PR to chase down

Wow that is a sub 6 and 6 minute pace. Not in my wildest dreams. My PR is 1:43 on the half. I am going to shoot for 1:35 next time around if I can actually get my lazy butt up to train for it. The problem is I love to eat. :)

@Thordaddy

I was pretty heartbroken that I couldnt make it to the Lou for the season opener to honor our dear departed friend. But thanks to @CGI_Ram I was able to reach out to Rich's daughter and share with her how important her dad was to me, and frankly to anyone that knew him.
Over the years, on this board and another, he was incredibly supportive of people embracing physical fitness. So I shared with Jennifer that I was running the NYC marathon and thought it would be cool to carry a trinket of Rich with me. But much to my surprise the family responded with so much more.
Today I recieved in the mail a shirt and hat he had so much pride in. As most know, Rich had a passion for wrestling and helped create the wrestling program at Notre Dame high school where his boys attended.
So I will miss much of the game on Sunday as I'll be tackling the streets of NYC. But I'll Thordaddy with me so its all good.
Go Rams and Screw the Niners!!!

Very Cool

Break a leg, oops wrong activity

Run like your being chased by Mike Tyson, after you waved a fake ear in front of him.:boxing:

I will also be visiting an old, young friend. our neighbors moved to long island and the mother was a resident at the local medical center. She worked so much while here that her daughter was practically ours, and seemed like my 8 year old sons wife. They were very close and he really misses her. We do too. :grouphug:So we have the planned trips into the Boston area. My wife doesn't know it but I have a side trip planned to Gillette stadium one night with a bag full of spray blue and gold spray paint. :yess:

Of course my dog gets deathly ill the week before we leave and is still recovering so the in-laws will be staying at our house. So, don't anyone get any ideas! My father in-law always carries a gun and he is a crack shot!
