Former Jets and Titans running back Chris Johnson is recovering after he was shot in the shoulder in Florida.

Johnson is reportedly in stable condition and expected to be OK after he was one of the victims in what has been described as a drive-by shooting. According to reports, Johnson was one of three people shot in the incident. One of the other victims died.

The Jets, who signed Johnson in free agency last year, recently announced that Johnson will not be back with the team this year. Johnson had previously played his entire career in Tennessee.

No arrests have been made and police have asked for information from anyone who may have witnessed anything in connection with the shooting.

This isn't the only time Johnson has found himself in a bad situation back home. In January of this year, Johnson was arrested in Orlando on a gun charge, and a couple years ago a house he and other NFL players frequented to have sex at was at the center of an investigation of the shooting of a 15-year-old girl.

According to the sheriff's office, police responded to a call at approximately 4 a.m. at an intersection and found a Jeep with one deceased male inside and two male passengers with gunshot wounds out on the sidewalk. Police said the victims related that an unknown vehicle had pulled up alongside them at a red light, and that someone then opened fire.

Chris Johnson and Reggie Johnson were transported to a local hospital. No arrests have been made, and the incident is still under investigation.

While living in East San Jose, CA there were two drive-by shootings on my street in 7 years. One night while driving to work someone shot out my rear window just missing me. So yeah, sometimes it's not the person's fault. Other times it's a lack of common sense.

Johnson was arrested two months ago when a Glock 9 mm and an FN 5.7 mm -- two semiautomatic handguns -- were discovered in his car. Turning 30 in September, there's a very real chance we've seen the last of Johnson in the NFL.

Aren't you curious why he was the victim of a drive by shooting. Usually the reason a drive by happens is because there was a reason for it to happen. They rarely break out organically.

Nah, I was a family man with a small child trying to make a living. The problem was that we didn't have a lot of money in those days and it was either keep living in a crappy apartment in a decent neighborhood or buying a house in a terrible neighborhood. For anyone familiar with San Jose, Ca., the house was near Story and King Road. After 7 years we had had enough and moved east.
