I've heard it all now. A team is worried about their qb getting hit on his legs. Not low, just his upper leg area.

Get used to it ravens. Teams try to take away the biggest threat. Teach him how to be a qb and the problem goes away.

.

Great player but he won't last.

RG3 was the hottest thing and MVP candidate and all it took was that damn Fedex Field and he was done.

That's all it takes... one sloppy field or one bad tackle...doesn't have to be a hard hit, just something that gets that knee tore up and... it's a whole nother thing.

I love that every team knows the downside of a running QB, and then when the inevitable happens, they seem surprised and run to the refs for protection.

How on earth are you supposed to tackle the guy? Bring him down hard by the legs, making his next run harder. Pretty simple math.

Jackson needs to take out an insurance policy on his legs. Like, for real. I think most of us remember when McGahee took out a policy on his legs. $2.5M, I think, and then he suffered that gruesome injury shortly thereafter. He'd be silly not to. I also think it's pretty much a given that - despite any mandate given by any team's HC - Jackson's legs are a primary target by any tackler. That's just the reality of the situation. His teammates can whine and complain about it, but that's not gonna change the reality.

Dude runs with a power style too so yeah cracks me up how ridiculous that is. Doesn't surprise me though Harbaugh gonna get his douche on.

Launching at his mid-section has resulted in a lot of "whiffs". Guys are just tackling the air where he used to be. As @-X- says above, the legs have to be the primary target. In the pocket, I'd say he has to get the same protection as other QBs. If he's getting hit below the knees in the pocket, that needs to be called.

He best not go down with a leg injury until after he wins me a fantasy football championship however.

Fuck them.

I'm fairly certain the G Williams will be telling his defense that very thing leading up to Thursday night's game.

If I was the DC planning against him... I'd tell my outside rushers to tackle Lamar every time he looks like he's handing the ball off. I'd tell them... "I don't give a shit if he has the ball or not... half the time he fakes the handoff... I don't want any chance of him being successful in faking us out... SMASH HIS ASS EVERY TIME".

I bet G Williams will demand that very thing on Thursday night. It's hard for me to understand why others haven't used this strategy to slow down the fake antics and running.

I saw a statistic showing how he and Mike Vick got their 1,000 yards rushing, Vick almost all came on scrambles, and Jackson are almost all coming on designed runs.

He’s all world right now, but I think that hurts his chances for success in the future as he’s forced to play more from the pocket. He could always be the exception to the rule, but I’m not convinced he will be yet.

Jackson can always slide like most QBs if he wants to protect himself. Or he can try to get every yard and get hit like any other RB. He has just much say in how and where he gets hit as the defender does, so if his teammates dont like it they should take it up with him, not the officials.

The Ravens need to win it this year, because Jackson isn’t lasting 2 years running 15 times a game vs NfL defenses.

Harbaugh is a selfish guy, extending his coaching Career at Lamars expense.

If your up 3-4 scores, show some dignity and stop running the toothpick legged QB.

Ask Jimmy G String. Gravity and the ground took him out when he try to scramble for the sidelines.

I expect playoff teams to handle Jackson this way. If he goes to hand off he's considered a blocker/runner, you're allowed to take him out. Teams did the same thing when Seattle was running a lot of RPO stuff in Wilson's early years and they stopped because QB's don't like to take that type of punishment.

Honestly I'm surprised I haven't seen more. Even in the Rams game I saw defenders always hitting the RB first when they ran the RPO. I expect that to change.
