This Rams team is going to be historically bad ...UNLESS they somehow figure out how to stop committing dumb penalties, missing tackles by hitting instead of wrapping and the WR's suddenly develop hands in place of the frying pans that currently pass for 'hands'...

If Foles gets hurt, there is a chance this team could be the NFL's very first 0-20 team because there is no way that Keenum and Mannion combined could win a game at this point (IMO). I do not say that to be snarky...looking at the external distractions, the internal OL growing pains, the dicey HB health and the results of the pre-season on top of last season's results, I can see a snow ball rolling and gathering steam unless the team comes out and shocks the league with solutions to all those problems.

I hope to be terribly wrong, but this is set-up to get ugly and the "effort" from guys like Britt and Cook in the pre-season only makes me worry more.

While I will agree there were frustrations in preseason, me thinks you exaggerate a bit.

I haven't seen many dropped balls in preseason from the ones. Cook dropped one in the seam but Britt has made a number of tight catches so I'm not sure why you say he isn't giving effort. Givens...dude is looking like a breakout. TA has flashed a new level of play. Kendricks has made some big plays. Quick hasn't been tested. Not sure where the negativity is coming from.

Predicting 0-20 without Foles is saying the team is worse than last season without Bradford. I couldn't disagree more. Keenum isn't being handed the second spot, he beat AD into the ground all TC. He's a legit backup who is capable of far more than Hill and Davis, IMHO.

Mannion hit his man over and over with the twos and threes yesterday. If those were the ones, he would have lit up that game.

Having watched the Seahawks O-line a little, they are in worse shape then us. They better have a hell of a game plan to relieve pressure off Recovery Water boy, or he's going to need a swimming pool of it.

Rams win 24-7. I envision a game like the Cardinals game in St. Louis in 2012. 6 sacks. Deep touchdown to Givens. Tavon breaks 2 big gainers, one on a screen, the other on an end-around.

its not like Seattle got worse this offseason.
Let's see... Lost defensive coordinator - check. Lost starting CB Byron Maxwell - check. Lost Superbowl MVP LB Malcom Smith - check. Lost pass rushing DE Schofield - check. Lost starting OG Carpenter - check. Lost center Max Unger - check. Gained TE Jimmy Graham - check.

Hmmmm.... So they didn't get worse yet we did? Who did we lose that would tell you that we are worse?

One other random thought as it pertains to the Rams playing Seattle tough the past few years.

This is the first game of the season. I suspect Seattle will have a few things thrown at the Rams that they (the Rams) have never seen. Not sure how that might impact the game... but I feel like you can't look at previous games (in mid-season, for example) and apply that to this game unilaterally.

Now.. having said that... this idea cuts both ways. ;)

Go Rams!!

All I know is we better not let fucking Tyler Lockett score. Stop his ass. Nobody else can right now.

Of that, I'm certain, especially against Seattle.

Ogletree has not been good at containment when he sees the prize. He takes bad lines. Please Tree, contain, contain, contain.

The problem I have with predictions like these is that your score would be historically bad. The Seahawks haven't come close to beating the Rams at home that bad in a long long time. I can't imagine anyone thinking our O line is worse, Foles is worse, the defense in its second season is worse... and historically worse.

Vegas is at -3.5 Seahawks and you think -24?!

Do you realise we have beaten the Hawks 2 out of the last 3 at home? That the one loss required a goal line stand in the last minute of the game and it was a loss by only 5 points? That in the last win the Rams were missing CB Johnson, QB Bradford, LB Chris Long, and lost CB Jenkins for half the game? That it was LT Robinson's first start, RB Tre Mason's first start, DT Aaron Donald's first or second start, and QB Austin Davis' sixth start?

And you think we are worse now? o_O

I love the positive spin, but there's more info than that...

In our win last year, Wagner was out. He is (IMO) the most important player for that defense. Also, we did not play them in week 1 - remember how badly we lost to the Vikings? We had something to prove, as two years prior they ran amuck on us at home. Most of our guys were on that team, and yet we laid an EGG. Imagine if that was the Seahawks in week 1 instead of a .500 team??

I hope to goodness we win. And I do think it will be close IF our d shows up. But I am having a hard time seeing where the offense comes from.

Home and away vs. Seattle is very very different, so let's just look at the games in STL since Carroll and Fisher have both been here...

2012 - 19-13 win - 0 offensive TDs

2013 - 14-9 loss - 0 offensive TDs

2014 - 28-26 win - 3 offensive TDs

2 ST TDs over this time period

So in 3 games at home, we've scored 3 offensive TDs. Good for 1 per game. Granted Chancellor will be out, but otherwise their key defensive players will be ready to go. I'd love to say I could see us scoring more than 1 TD on offense, but it's hard.

So in 3 games at home, we've scored 3 offensive TDs.

Last season we scored 3 offensive TDs. With a third string QB and a terrible o-line. Now add Foles and talent to the o-line.

Week one compared to last season? I am of the opinion that this defense is going to come out guns ablazing being familiar with the scheme and with DROY and pro bowler Donald starting this time. I am also of the opinion that game one with half Hill and half Davis is not comparable to Foles who has been here all of OTAs, training camp, and every preseason game as the starter. The first was a nightmare come true and the second, Foles, is a well considered plan of action.

I ain't scared of game one and I ain't scared of no Seahawks. I been decipherin' and we is gonna' win, oh yeah!

It has always been bad luck for me to predict the outcome of a Ram game... so I stay the hell away from that.

However, I will predict that we will see old Pete choke nearly to death on that fucking gum he's always open mouth smacking on. It will be a thing of beauty.

Rams win 16-12. Defense bends but doesn't break. Offense will have a few 3 and outs early on but will settle down later in the game and produce a touchdown to secure the win. I expect a couple special teams "special" plays to provide momentum. I don't care if we win by 1 or 50, I would like to see us get the win and provide some confidence to our team going into the Washington game.

My prediction (sorry guys). The new extra point/2 point conversion is going to give us some wacky scores.

Seahawks - 22
Rams - 18

Final (OT):
Seahawks - 20
Rams - 23

After a 17 - 3 Rams lead at halftime, Seattle scores 14 in the third and 3 halfway through the 4th to take a 20-17 lead. Two big offensive plays gets the Rams into the red zone but the drive stalls and Zuerlein makes the easy chip shot. Seattle kneels to take it to overtime. The Seahawks win the toss and receives the ball. Lockett returns to midfield but an errant pass by Wilson is picked off and taken to the Seattle 40. The drive stalls and on 4th and 2, GZ sneaks one inside left upright.

NFC West Standings Week 1:
Cardinals 1-0
Rams 1-0
Seahawks 0-1
49ers 0-1

Not going to be extended since I'm on my phone just stating some facts.

Where's Kam Chancellor?

Seahawks released their presumed starting center and reshuffled oline again.

Besides Baldwin and Kearse who is a WR threat. I'm not concerned with Graham, I'm just not. (I'm aware of Lockett but so is TJ Mac Daddy).

Lots more could be added and also repeated like our oline shuffles and "play makers" to match.

I just have that mindset it's our game to come out and truly make some noise and finish with a W.

Rams win 23-15. Wilson is sacked 4 times. D comes up with a big turnover late in the game.

I couldn't choose. My choice, we soak Seahawks bench with gas, and set it on fire;)
