[Big Game]

Sean McVay smiled and shook his hand like he always does. Wade Phillips.... the coldest shoulder to Payton as I've ever seen that man give anyone. Wow, straight faced "freak you" walk right by Payton without even acknowledging his existence. Someone is bringing THE PAIN on November 4th.

I'll be there Nov 4th and believe me revenge will be a dish best served cold hahahhahahha. I don't think it was smart to run the score up in a preseason game when you have to face that team in the regular season.

I understand about sitting Whitworth, Sullivan & Saffold and I also understand about the trepidation of playing Goff without those guys upfront, but one series or two would have benefited them IMO. Again, if the Rams come out on the Eve of September firing on all cylinders, no concern, but if Goff struggles, there will be many that question why no preseason snaps.

That’s my concern. I don’t want to use the first regular season game to “work out all the kinks” and have Chucky eek out some improbable victory over us.

I never like the idea of playing cautious. Between resting out starters game 16 last year, and now this preseason strategy I just have a small concern.

Now blow out the Raiders Monday, and all is good in my orbit again.

Coach needs to get the team some wet ball night practices too. The playoff game, the conditions, it was like the team was completely baffled the ball was slick. It will be slick in Oakland for sure. If we see some fumbles, I'm going to be upset we got caught with our pants down.

I watched the game. The primary piece of knowledge that I gleaned from the experience was this: If the Rams lose their top 30 to 40 players to injury this year, the team is in serious trouble. Oh, and Asshole Face is an asshole.

The Rams offense was held in check all night long. Though they moved the ball well on their first drive, they were ultimately shut out and the backups showed very few signs of life. Fortunately for Rams fans, the regular season is coming soon. Los Angeles was sloppy both offensively and on special teams. They fumbled the ball three times, losing two, to go along with two interceptions. They also gave up a blocked punt that resulted in a special teams touchdown for the Saints.

Clearly, the Rams mailed this game in just as they have the entire preseason, resting all their defensive starters, they did little to slow down the Saints. Dominated in the trenches all night, the Rams clearly had one goal in mind: keep each starter healthy and prepare for the regular season.

Taysom Hill got the start for the Saints in their final preseason game and he didn’t disappoint. Fueled by the Saints mid-week trade for Teddy Bridgewater, Hill showed all aspects of his game. He ran the ball well and made some nice throws. Overall the Saints game plan was clear, establish the run and dominate in the trenches which they did all night long.

The Saints defense flew around all night long as Alex Anzelone made an incredible toe-tapping interception in the red zone to end the Saints’ first defensive series and they never looked back. Marcus Davenport played well in pash-rushing scenarios and his best play of the day came on a play that was ultimately wiped out by a penalty — rushing off the edge, exploding through the quarterback and forcing a fumble.

KEY TO THE GAME

Los Angeles: The Rams played far too poorly in every facet to come out with a win. Turning the ball over as often as they did make it nearly impossible to win at any level, let alone in the NFL

New Orleans: The Saints offensive line played well as they constantly opened up holes for the ground attack and pushed the Rams around all night

With all the practice reps they've taken, why would 20 preseason snaps be what makes the difference?

I was half asleep watching the game so I may have imagined it, but...can someone explain the last fumble recovery by the Saints? It looked like their guy never had possession and then the ball went out of bounds - how would that have been their ball??

I remember last preseason when Goff was in and we played the Titans, could be wrong on the team, but he played like TRASH. I was worried about the whole season after that game. Then we come out for game 1 regular season and he looked incredible. So i dont really care if he comes out during preseason, playong against 2' and 3's. He's going up against one if not the best D in the league every practice.

I just don't see how going out there and taking 6 or maybe even 10 snaps is going to change a thing. He knows the playbook, his teammates and the game.

As for Hodge he'd be perfect for the PS. He hasn't done anything on ST that I've seen in the preseason and he needs some work on his routes. Give him the year to work on them and next year maybe he gets on the 53 man and becomes a great story.

Sean McVay better be right, I don't think sitting Goff the whole preseason was the right call, but I was not Coach of the Year. Hopefully, the offense will be ready and I don't care about how well the Rams run practice the QB never takes a hit and sometimes it's good to get that out of the way, but I understand about health.

Just hope they are ready for Oakland and that Purgatory, they call a football field.

Well you have to remember that Britt Quick and Tavon were the primary receivers on that team is why Spruce was hyped so much.

And Pharoh Cooper, and Mike Thomas. So what? People got all amped over 1 performance, and it was a joke.

I think the offence sputters a little in the 1st half Monday. No big deal, the defence will keep it close. Probably gets some turn overs and we get some easy points. Second half the offence clicks and final score rams 31 to 9.

I have absolutely nothing against Hodge.
I would love to see him make the team based on all the glowing reports.
It is just there's no way I would risk losing Cooper and his proven production as a returner for the newest potential guy.

I was more thinking of Thomas being the odd man out, but no worries..

Had to rewatch the Raiders game, he played well but i wouldnt say "tore up"' the Raiders, we were up 17-14 at the half and then he never stepped in the rest of the game.

This is kind of a situation where you can look at the glass half empty or half full bc we had two games, one where he played well and one where he played bad. You picked the half full while I picked the half empty. We all know how the season went so your pick was the accurate one, but i wouldnt say picking the half empty glass wouldnt be completely out of reason.

In the end i think we can both agree that Goff played much better during the season than in any preseason game, which is why I feel preseason play MIGHT not really matter in this situation.

Gruden didn't play his starting offense very much in pre season either. Carr only played a few series.
